Position Summary The University of the Incarnate Word is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing. The Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing will be an integral part of the marketing of the Department of Athletics, a Division I member of the NCAA and a member of the Southland Conference. This position's main objective is to market and promote UIW Cardinal Athletics with the goal of increasing sponsorships and increasing single-game and group ticket sales while enhancing fan experience and the overall game presentation.

Description of Job Duties Under the direction of the Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs, responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: • Develop, implement and execute a comprehensive marketing plan for all sports, with an emphasis on increasing revenue, raising attendance, and enhancing in-game promotions to maximize the fan experience. • Assume overall responsibility for all in-game marketing and promotions associated with assigned home athletic events, to include but not limited to: the production of run of show timelines and public address scripts, operation and production of video boards, organization of in-venue music and time-out coordination with band, cheer and dance, as well as activation of sponsorships. • Develop and implement an aggressive advertising plan to increase awareness for assigned sports through print and electronic media, outdoor advertising, web content, community partners, and social media platforms. • Develop and implement strategies to increase and maintain high levels of student involvement. • Develop new ways to promote the UIW Cardinals as a local and national brand. • Establish and reinforce sound processes for effective analyses of advertising campaigns, ticket sales efforts, email campaigns, lead-generation tactics, grassroots executions, etc. • Spearhead the database marketing strategies for the athletic department • Work hand-in-hand with Alumni office to drive strategic growth, and potential donors • Lead and continue to develop athletics department strategic plans. • Execute other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Knowledge Skills and Abilities •Demonstrate experience with forms of new media including, but not limited to website, social media, video, mobile, and/or e-mail marketing campaigns. •Embody a strong work ethic, have a desire to work in collegiate athletics, and have strong written and oral communication skills. •Be able to work an extensive night and weekend work schedule. •Have knowledge of NCAA and Southland Conference rules and regulations. •Experience with database marketing and email marketing •Excellent communications, management and collaborative skills •Sports marketing experience preferred •Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Power Point and other computer skills required •Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, proactively problem solve and be highly organized •Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. •Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA
Required Education Bachelor's degree in sport administration, business, marketing, communications or a related field.
Required Work Experience At least three (3) years of experience in collegiate athletic marketing or a related field with a proven successful experience in achieving marketing plan goals.
Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in sport administration, business, marketing, communications or related field is preferred. Demonstrated progressive, results-oriented marketing experience at a NCAA Division I or professional sports level.
Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations Possess a clean driving record in order to operate university owned vehicles.
Work Hours Ability to work long, flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical Demands Ability to lift 30lbs.
