Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned. 1. Responsible for promoting the mission of CBU athletics and the University, including adherence to department policies/procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the university and the NCAA. 2. Subject to and expected to comply with all applicable University policies and procedures. 3. MARKETINGRESPONSIBILITIES Developing marketing, promotional and advertising plans for designated sports; coordinating pre-game, in-game and post-game promotional activities to enhance the game day experience for fans and our student athletes; assisting with implementation and execution of game-day elements; and assisting with the integration and activation of corporate sponsorship. 4. FANENGAGEMENTRESPONSIBILITIES: • Manage event presentation, game experience and sponsorship activation for Men’s & women’s Basketball, women’s volleyball, and baseball including, but not limited to, writing scripts and timelines, directing game, creating and managing content, designing elements as needed and managing game day staff. • Coordinating pre-game, in-game and post-game promotional activities to enhance the game day experience for fans and our student athletes; oversight of summer community engage. • Assist Director of Ticketing with engaging ways to drive attendance from groups, theme nights, corporations and community stakeholders. o Work with Associate Director of Athletics and internal team to develop new ways to entertain fans and promote brand consistency through video, print pieces and other mediums. o Work with campus partners to create engaging fan experiences at all CBUathletic events. • Oversee Junior Lancers marketing program. • Prepares marketing plans, conducts meetings with coaches and works directly with other departments to ensure success. Works as game day director for each sporting event. 5. SOCIALMEDIARESPONSIBILITIES: • Assist in extending the California Baptist University brand through the development and management of athletics’ social media platforms. The individual in this role will make decisions on content and timing of external outputs across social media platforms with very large followings. • Assist in the digital efforts for department social media and advertising to engage the fan base and create awareness of and sell tickets to athletics events. o Manage social media app. with Super Fan U and create engaging content for students, alumni and fans. • Includes but not limited to, email marketing, marketing analytics, retargeting, geo-targeting.
Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior collegiate sports and/or professional experience strongly preferred with emphasis on fan engagement and social media integration. Experience with various social media platforms, WORD, PowerPoint, EXCEL and working knowledge of ADOBE Photoshop.
