Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer for University Development, the Digital Marketing Director is responsible for developing and implementing digital marketing and content strategies for University Development marketing initiatives. The Director will work with development and communication leaders across campus to ensure the University's development priorities are being expressed in an impactful and compelling manner. In addition, the Director provides counsel and support to various schools and units to help them develop and enhance their digital marketing strategies, for both internal and external marketing platforms, to ensure alignment with University Development strategies and that competencies and efficiencies are gained wherever possible. Direct experience supporting digital proprieties (websites, microsites, and social media) is a must, as is knowledge and continuous research into new and innovative digital strategies. This position is meant to serve as a big-picture resource by communicating updated digital strategies and options and counseling and advising others who are making that transition, and owning the development digital content calendar.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to influence others. Proven track record of advising and partnering with others on communication initiatives. Good judgment, discretion and the ability to think quickly and work under pressure. Strong interpersonal and promotional skills to work successfully with people at all levels of the university community and, as necessary, external publics. An uncompromising commitment to quality and attention to detail. Team oriented with a strong sense of commitment to colleagues and internal clients.
At least 4 years digital content strategy experience, with a strong working knowledge of digital publishing technologies and strategies.
