The Lawrence Hall of Science (www.lawrencehallofscience.org) is UC Berkeley’s public science center and a leading provider of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) educational materials and methods, professional learning programs, research, and hands-on learning experiences. We are looking for a digital marketing specialist to support Hall marketing and communications programs, including social media accounts, that lead to increased attendance, participation, and engagement with Hall programs, as well as generating revenue, donor support, and brand awareness. You will be responsible for creating original text and video content, managing digital campaigns, responding to followers, and measuring and reporting on results. You will also assist with management of the Hall brand in a cohesive way to achieve our marketing & programmatic goals.

•Managing marketing projects from conception to implementation, including preparing schedules, writing content, securing images or videos, and handling creative revisions for print and online deliverables. •Designing and implementing digital media strategy to align with Hall goals, setting specific objectives and measuring and reporting on results of marketing tactics. •Developing and managing media lists including editorial contacts and calendars. • Generating, editing, publishing and sharing engaging content daily (e.g. original text, photos, videos and news). •Monitoring SEO, AD words and web traffic metrics. •Collaborating with other Hall teams, for example, Membership, sales, visitor services, web, and retail operations, to ensure consistency of communications and branding. •Communicating with followers, responding to queries in a timely manner and monitoring Hall client reviews. •Overseeing Hall social media accounts’ look and feel, keeping them up to date and reflective of Hall goals. •Suggesting and implementing new features to develop brand awareness, promote engagement or improve results. •Staying up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications.•Two years proven work experience in marketing, preferably as a social media manager. •Hands on experience in content management. •Excellent copywriting skills (portfolio required at interview). •Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video). •Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research, use of Google AD words, and Google Analytics. •Knowledge of online marketing channels. •Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite. •Familiarity with web design highly desirable. •Excellent written and verbal communication skills. •Strong analytical, project management, and multitasking skills. •Ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment. •Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or relevant field or equivalent training and professional experience. This is a 1 year contract position with a possibility of extension.
