The Communications and Marketing Manager is responsible for the development of integrated marketing strategies and promotional campaigns for NPMA’s membership, meetings and services. The manager will develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to increase member awareness of the association’s benefits and increase engagement in NPMA activities.
The manager will also be responsible for implementing programs to maintain/enhance social media presence and to sustain the NPMA brand image across all materials and events.
Reports directly to the Director of Marketing and Communications.
Work with Communications and Marketing Director to determine marketing communications needs for NPMA with a strong focus on meetings and membership initiatives
Develop, write, and produce communication vehicles directed to members, i.e. weekly ePestWorld newsletter, Leadership Link, International newsletter, Spanish newsletter
Help develop and communicate meetings objective, message, theme, program agenda, promotions and other supporting statements working with the Communications and Marketing Director and appropriate Meetings staff
Administer and manage email announcements including writing of emails and culling of target lists
Coordinate print marketing timelines and deadlines for production by working with key team members across Meetings and Membership departments
Maintain marketing calendars and project schedule for NPMA marketing activities
Pull, edit and maintain target lists for use in all marketing campaigns
Monitor and prepare in-house inventory of printed collateral including ensuring that all staff have access to current promotional brochures and flyers
Prepare marketing materials for promotional use at all meetings
Serve as community manager for members-only community website, to include monitoring open forum discussions, maintaining resource library, and creating communities as needed
Identify non-member participation in NPMA conferences and meetings and prepare materials for registration packets to encourage membership
Work with Communications and Marketing Director and Membership Director to devise and implement other recruitment and/or renewal activities including but not limited to the development and management of membership marketing collateral
Develop and implement a social media strategy, to include developing strategy, analyzing trends, and managing the Social Media Task Force.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Communications or related discipline desired
Requires a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in marketing, communication, program/product marketing, and/or member communications programs (trade association experience preferred)
Must be able to work on project teams and share accountability/reward for achieving broader goal
Must possess strong initiative and be results-oriented
Requires excellent written and oral communication and project management skills
Requires intermediate to expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e.
Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Web applications
Requires intermediate knowledge of social media applications
Adobe Creative Suite knowledge is preferred
