The Communication & Marketing Manager will support the Career Development Center (CDC) at the UVA Darden School of Business. Working with both the CDC and the Enterprise Communication & Marketing team, the role will develop and execute a communication and marketing strategy to communicate and engage internal and external stakeholders (prospective and current students, faculty, staff, alumni, company partners and other University stakeholders) about the unparalleled career opportunities offered by the Darden School.
We seek an organized and collaborative team player with demonstrated skills and interest in developing, managing and implementing written and digital communications ? across an array of channels (including email marketing, website/blog development, social media and printed collateral).
The role will have the opportunity to work with specialists in the communication and marketing and career development fields and to build a dynamic, career-focused communication program for Darden that delivers measurable results.
Responsibilities include: Create, monitor, and implement communication and marketing strategy for CDC including student career management, company-related content and student employment outcomes. Focus includes messaging to current students across both MBA formats (Residential and Executive), a specialty master's degree in business analytics (MSBA), corporate recruiting partners and new company relationships Produce engaging career-related content to be used across marketing platforms owned by multiple Darden departments (e.g. website, portals, blogs, publications, student and corporate newsletters, e-mail, social media and/or other online platforms) Serve as a communication-focused liaison between CDC and the Darden enterprise, e.g. Office of Communication & Marketing, Admissions, and Engagement (Alumni and Alumni Career Services) Develop print publications and digital campaigns that focus on student employment outcomes, including an annual department report Manage CDC website by collaborating with CDC team and website content managers Collaborate with Admissions to deliver career content for prospective and admitted students including: online career blogs, webinars and web-based chat sessions Engage Darden students to understand their communication preferences and with other top business schools to learn best practices Oversee the adherence of UVA and Darden communication and marketing standards with CDC publications, presentations, and on-line media (including creating and revising resources and teaching material)
Required Minimum Level of Education: *Degree or Equivalent Experience Required
Required Specific Degree/Training: A Bachelor's Degree or at least 4 years of directly related experience in a marketing, communications, and/or business related major or concentration
Preferred Minimum Level of Education: *Degree Preferred
Preferred Specific Degree/Training: Bachelor's degree
Required Minimum Level of Experience: Some - up to 4 years
Required Specific Experience: Communication and marketing experience
Preferred Minimum Level of Experience: Considerable - 4 to 7 years
Preferred Specific Experience: Communication and marketing experience within higher education. Basic understanding of Drupal (web), Pardot (email) and Salesforce (CRM).
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated written communication skills, organizational ability and a high level of comfort with technology. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and remain cognizant of deadlines and schedules.
Required Computer Applications: Intermediate to advanced proficiency in web-based publishing, blogging and social media platforms (e.g. Wordpress, Adobe suite, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, Pinterest, and/or mobile applications). Understanding of SEO and web analytics to monitor, tailor and report web traffic and to maximize reach of communication to target audiences.
