The Alumni Association of the University of Michigan (AAUM) is seeking a Digital Marketing Coordinator to join the innovative marketing & communications team that is an integral part of the associations strategic transformation plan. The team is focused on marketing and communications efforts in support of AAUM's products, services and the brand. Assist in the implementation and development of marketing strategy of the Alumni Association’s digital assets across all digital channels, including website, email, and social in order to increase member acquisition and engagement. Implement a multi-channel marketing approach for campaign management while always testing and improving success metrics and goals.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
Implement digital campaigns across email, social media and other web assets to ensure member engagement at all digital touch points.
Maintain strong website presence and help increase site traffic/engagement in collaboration with marketing team and program area staff.
Coordinate day-to-day website updates.
Optimize website for SEO.
Work with staff to gather website requirements; assist in providing vision for the website's growth.
Coordinate with creative team in development of assets.
Recommend and execute email campaigns, targets and schedules to achieve marketing and program goals.
Coordinate email requests, manage workflows and email schedule; innovate and execute new types of content and delivery methods.
Create and refine queries and develop strategies for automating updates to lists in order to improve email targeting.
Assist in development of email campaigns including marketing automation/lead generation/ journeys.
Assist in optimization of paid media spend/placement in order to drive brand awareness, membership and loyalty.
Coordinate and interface with program areas in helping them develop their marketing plans.
Assist with marketing analytics including website, email, newsletter, and social media analytics. Measure metrics and make recommendations to optimize performance through regular reporting.
Be at the forefront of new technologies and innovations that attract and engage users in the digital space and share those ideas with the other marketing staff.
Provide organizational leadership that fosters a positive culture that is reflective of AAUM’s Core Values: All In, Serving Heart and Solution Seeker and help other staff members to demonstrate those values.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Staff Alumni Association events as needed.
Provide staff support to the Alumni Association’s Board of Directors and its committees
Coordinate special projects as assigned or required.
Participate in Alumni Association committees as required.
Participate in appropriate team and staff meetings.
Remain current with respect to technology and resources.
Share knowledge through internal communications.
Represent the Alumni Association at University and Alumni functions as needed.
Support Alumni Association vision.
Direct supervision is received from the Marketing Manager.
May coordinate the work of some temporary employees and work with external agencies.
A bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience in digital marketing.
Experience managing email, web and social media campaigns.
Demonstrated ability to contribute to the creative process with a strategic web-marketing mindset.
Experience and comfort with software programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database management.
Familiarity working with WordPress or similar CMS.
Familiarity working with Salesforce Marketing Cloud/ ExactTarget or similar platforms
Highly organized with strong project management skills.
Proven ability to manage many tasks concurrently, continually setting priorities on emerging requirements and changing timelines.
Results-driven and solution-oriented.
A proven ability to generate creative, innovative solutions to issues and a can-do approach to developing solution strategies.
