ROLE of the POSITION
Responsible for increasing the overall visibility of assigned sports by leading and managing marketing/promotions, social media, student and campus engagement, and executing a ticket sales strategies to meet revenue goals established by unit leaders.
Implement, manage and plan marketing strategies to drive attendance, promotion and engagement of events.
Creates and implements game entertainment scripts for assigned sports. Oversees and coordinates the implementation of all game atmosphere elements including game entertainment and sponsor-related activities
Develop creative campaigns designed to support ticket sales with corresponding promotional and advertising strategies for UNLV Athletics.
Collaborates with other departments and athletics teams to implement promotional and theme calendars for each sport designed to increase fan engagement throughout the year.
Coordinate the design, production, and distribution of promotional items such as schedule cards, posters, fan giveaways, and other marketing related items for assigned sports.
Work in collaboration with the content creation team in telling/sharing the student-athlete story and building relationships in the community.
Develop a fan engagement plan that takes into account the entire customer experience.
Develop creative grassroots/street team and digital marketing strategies to engage students and increase awareness, attendance, and affinity for athletic programs.
Actively seek to engage and develop new relationships in the surrounding community to grow exposure and affinity for UNLV and develop fans.
Develop creative ways to drive engagement and awareness through social media.
Manage the recruitment, training, and appearances for the Hey, Reb! mascot.
Oversight of the UNLV Rebels Kids Club including, but not limited to, membership initiatives, special events, and communications.
Other relevant duties to the UNLV athletic department as assigned.
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university and one (1) year related professional experience in Athletic Marketing or Event Production. Bachelor's Degree and one (1) year in sport administration, business, marketing, or a related field. In addition, qualified applicants must possess the following:
Experience in athletics marketing, promotions, game entertainment, and brand development.
Knowledge of social media and digital marketing.
Knowledge of all applicable NCAA rules and regulations.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to write scripts and produce collegiate athletic events.
Ability to utilize logic and understanding of the day-to-day marketing operations of an intercollegiate athletic department.
Ability to maintain professional attitude in high pressure situations.
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Ability to work and communicate effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds.
Ability to work independently without supervision
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
