Lead strategy and execution of a marketing communications plan building a consistent brand to position the airport locally, nationally and internationally. This role will oversee marketing communications including the website and market research and analysis.
This class specification represents only the core areas of responsibilities; specific position assignments will vary depending on the needs of the department.
•Create and oversee the implementation of a strategic marketing communication plan aligned with the organization’s business objectives.
•Create strategies and objectives to build, protect and preserve the airport’s reputation.
•Serves as a co-spokesperson for CVG.
•Oversee brand development.
•Create strategies and objectives for all market research, web, print collateral materials and interactive marketing materials to support marketing communications efforts.
•Develop and create external and internal publications and materials (including multi-media, video, website) designed for CVG.
•Direct research methodology; identify need for customer research and utilizes customer research to make strategic business development decisions.
•Provide quality content and utilize appropriate channels to maximize the reach and effectiveness of communications.
•Partner with internal business units to develop marketing plans and programs.
•Select and manage outside advertising agencies, consultants and contractors for advertising and promotional campaigns.
•Oversee crisis communications.
•Develops strategy and messaging for advertising campaigns (both print and digital), develops creative elements of brand messaging, imagery and design. Manages contracts with marketing vendors and suppliers. Oversees all advertising media buys / assets.(e.g. Bill boards, radio, television, newspaper commercial space).
•Develops internet and website strategies that drive and grow customer engagement including subscriber databases. Directs the development of CVG website functionality, makes updates to existing content, creates new web page content, monitors website platform performance and manages third party supplier production. Develops and maintains database technology through CVGairport.com that supports marketing contests and promotions.
•Oversees registration and external enforcement of CVG airport trademarks. Reviews and approves internal uses of CVG’s trademarks to ensure consistent usage.
•Responsible for all contract management activities as documented in KCAB Policy 1014, Contract Management. As the subject matter expert responsible for all key aspects of contract management ensuring KCAB’s interests are represented in any business activities regarding the agreement. Prepares RFP’s, bid specifications, and negotiates contracts.
•Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field to the area of assignment and seven years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Maintain Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance.
Obtain/maintain position appropriate NIMS & emergency training.
Brand management, marketing, strategic planning, research and advertising;
Principles and practices of market research and analysis;
Traditional and social media;
Policies, practices and techniques of general management and administration;
Principles, and experience in the practices and techniques of senior organizational leadership and management to supervise and develop staff;
Effective use of various channels and applications in reaching and influencing audiences.
Extensive analytical and organizational skills and the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment;
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines;
Clearly and effectively communicating, negotiating and advocating, both orally and in writing;
Demonstrated skill in public speaking and presentations;

Use of a variety of computer-based technologies including, power point, word processing, and spreadsheets;
Establishing and maintaining effective, fair, cooperative, collaborative and respectful relationships with internal and external colleagues, peers, work teams and workgroups.

Positions in this class typically require: fingering, grasping walking, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Light Work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
