Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Direct Marketing Copywriter is responsible for copywriting, editing and proofing all direct mail content produced within the Marketing team. This includes, but is not limited to, direct mail packages, emails, catalogs and web content. The ideal candidate will understand business to business marketing, membership recruitment and training, and event marketing. The copywriter is responsible for the writing side, but must also be able to contribute to the visual side of the concept development and execution of creative deliverables.
Produce concise, clear copy for print direct mail, web and email vehicles.
Ensure all copywriting is in full compliance with brand, compliance, and legal standards
Uses strong project management skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently
Demonstrate exceptional writing experience and high attention to detail in all types of marketing communications.
Proofread and edit existing copy as needed
Assists with administrative tasks concerning Marketing Department (meetings, proof approvals and other as needed)
Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or Journalism preferred.
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience writing in medium to include, but not limited to, direct mail, catalog, email , website copy and various collateral and presentation materials
Experience with creative copywriting in a past marketing and/or advertising agency is preferred
Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
Experience using general office equipment, computers, word processing and spreadsheet applications (Microsoft Word and Excel) required.
