In collaboration with the University’s digital marketing agency, the Digital Marketing Specialist will help direct and implement paid search advertising initiatives for the College of Adult and Graduate Studies in order to maximize return on investment for paid search lead acquisition. Related activities include: collaborating on the creation and management of paid search campaigns; developing strategy and implementing advertising on social media networks; and curating digital content for broader online presence.
In addition, the Digital Marketing Specialist will maintain the College of Adult and Graduate Studies (CAGS) blog and all CAGS social media channels. Related activities include: writing, editing, and publishing blog posts, generating a monthly social media plan, creating and publishing engaging organic and promoted posts, responding to engagement across all channels, and executing strategic campaigns to foster engagement and brand awareness.
Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with the University’s digital marketing agency to implement paid search marketing/advertising on search engines, social media, and display networks in order to develop quality leads for the College of Adult and Graduate Studies.
Assist with managing paid search campaign expenses, staying on budget, estimating monthly costs, and reconciling discrepancies.
Execute tests, analyze results, and identify trends and insights in order to achieve maximum ROI in paid search and social media campaigns.
Track, report, and analyze website analytics, social media, and pay per click (PPC) initiatives and campaigns
Curate editorial calendar and blogs for CAGS that help strengthen its online presence, while also providing CAGS students and potential students with helpful tips and information.
Collaborate with CAGS Marketing on direct email marketing and social media marketing campaigns to improve search engine marketing (SEM) results.
Help monitor and respond to reviews on CAGS social media platforms.
Manage CAGS social media channels by maintaining a monthly social media plan, creating and posting engaging and relevant content on a regular basis, researching ways to improve engagement with the CAGS audience, responding to comments and messages across all platforms, and executing strategic campaigns to foster engagement and brand awareness.
Process and submit weekly invoices for payment.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
SEM experience, including managing PPC campaigns across Google, Bing; display ads on various networks and social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest)
Experience using Hootsuite or other social media management tools
Experience using Google Analytics and bid management tools; certifications in Facebook Blueprint and Google/Bing recommended
Experience in conversion marketing and analytics, specifically with online customer acquisition
Proficiency with graphic design tools including Adobe Creative Suite for basic photo editing
Experience with social media management and engagement strategy
Strong work ethic; be willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done – with excellence
Strong organizational skills. Ability to work on a variety of projects simultaneously to meet challenging deadlines
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience with A/B testing
Ability to interact professionally with employees and clients. Effective communication skills
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Excellent writing and editing skills; AP style knowledge preferred
Strong research and analysis skills. Excellent attention to detail
Nature of Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to walk, stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, speak with clarity, and have appropriate vision and hearing capabilities. Tasks will involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Occasional local travel and irregular hours are possible, including some nights and weekends.
