Marketing and Communications Associate manages communications, marketing, advertising, and publicity for CJDS both internally and externally. The Marketing and Communications Associate is on the Operational Leadership Team and reports to the Director of Institutional Advancement. This position works in collaboration with the Admissions and Development departments in their effort to recruit and retain both students and donors. In addition, the Marketing and Communications Associate works with the Marketing and Communications Lay Leadership Committee.
Job Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Creating and sending two weekly all-community newsletters, working with faculty and administration to create content.
Updating website with the most up-to-date information.
Managing social media driving the strategy and maintaining a strong presence for the school.
Under the direction of Director of Advancement, writing and editing grants.
Monitoring and implementing strategic marketing plan, which includes the goals and plans for the admissions, development and marketing departments.
Helping develop marketing strategy.
Creating promotional videos surrounding major events and for admissions or development purposes.
Working in collaboration with outside vendors in creating and updating advertisements and marketing materials.
Photographing events and daily classroom activity and maintaining the CJDS Photo library.
Initiates community outreach for promotional events, including press releases to local newspapers and organization’s e-newsletters, bulletin boards and online websites.
Maintaining the school’s marketing promotional materials and the archives.
Producing a Communications and Social Media calendar on a weekly and annual basis.
Designing and creating email campaigns for multiple departments through Constant Contact.
Ensuring marketing materials and communications throughout school are branded appropriately and up to date including logo, color palette, design look, photographs, etc.
Supporting admissions and development events
Other tasks as assigned
Job requires periodic evening and weekend commitments
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (communications, journalism, public relations, English, or related field preferred)
2-5 year of experience in related field
Exceptional writing, editing, and communications skills
Highly-motivated, self-starter who can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical and decision-making skills
Creative with capacity to think big and pay attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Experience with social media campaigns
Tech savvy and adaptable to new software and tools. Experience with InDesign preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills and high level of professionalism
Ability to be flexible
