Boise State University invites interested applicants for the position of Director of Marketing and Promotions for Boise State Athletics. The successful applicant will become part of our team as we build a Metropolitan Research University of Distinction. The individual in this position is responsible for oversight of the day-to-day operations of the Athletics Marketing Department along with the Assistant Athletic Director for Revenue and Brand Strategies, and will work directly with the Men’s Basketball program along with other Boise State varsity programs on marketing and promotions-related activities with a focus on revenue, attendance, atmosphere and branding. Any violation of a conference or NCAA regulation, as well as those policies of the University, could cause dismissal of a participant or staff member, as well as, create negative publicity and/or conference or NCAA standings to the program and institution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, coordinate and administer in-game promotions for intercollegiate sports with a direct working relationship with the Boise State Men’s Basketball program among others.
Maintain multiple projects while managing a staff that services all Boise State Athletics varsity programs.
Assist and advance social media and mobile marketing efforts (ie. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.).
Coordinate promotional events for Boise State Athletics to assist in increased ticket sales and overall community engagement.
Assist with Bronco Sports Properties sponsorship fulfillment and needs.
Oversight of Boise State Athletics’ visual brand and social media presence.
Supervise day-to-day activities of Assistant Director of Marketing and Promotions, Assistant Director of Multimedia Services, Graduate Assistants and undergraduate interns.
Be responsible for maintaining NCAA, Conference and Boise State rules Compliance.
The ideal candidate will possess:
Marketing and promotional experience working with high profile sports with a record of increasing revenue and attendance.
Management experience with the ability to provide proof of collective results as they relate to revenue generation, increased attendance, game day atmosphere and brand standards.
Knowledge of marketing trends within collegiate athletics that will enable the department to stay at the forefront of innovation and design.
A clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of each department within collegiate athletics, and the ability to effectively communicate and coordinate projects for the benefit of its student-athletes, fans and stakeholders.
The ability to maintain a budget and effectively utilize financial resources.
Minimum Qualifications (Including Certificates and Licenses):
Two (2) years of experience in similar type of work
Experience with graphic design programs (i.e. Adobe Creative Suite) and the ability to direct creative design of all athletics-related materials.
This position will be required to work nights and weekends and travel as necessary.
Master’s Degree in Sports Management, Business or related field.
Three (3) years of experience beyond graduate work
Experience working with collegiate athletics programs in promotions and marketing along with extensive work related to in-game marketing operations.
