Reporting to the Associate Vice Dean of Marketing and Strategic Communications, the Digital Marketing Manager will work collaboratively with the Digital Product Architect/Director, Technical Director, and design services. The incumbent will work closely with ColumbiaDoctors administration as well as various units across the institution.
Blend traditional and digital marketing skills with data analytics practices.
Develop, implement, track, and optimize digital marketing campaigns across all appropriate channels and support traditional marketing tactics.
Serve as a cross-functional leader who works with clients and the web technology team to define, create, and launch digital products.
Oversee digital marketing coordinators (both CUMC employees and freelancers) who work with clients to develop content, manage digital assets, and manage projects.
Develop overarching institutional digital strategy and continually revise based on changing trends, algorithms, and system integration.
Assess future needs and help direct resources to filling them.
Collaborate with billing manager to ensure billable time is adequately documented by all team members.
Effectively manage resources to ensure a successful client relationship.
Address complex, technical issues and communicate those issues to both technical and non-technical personnel.
Serve as a leader on the CUMC campus as digital marketing expert.
Collaborate with content contributors across CUMC.
Envision, develop, and implement ideas to improve and enhance the Columbia Doctors social media presence (new properties, practices, etc.).
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus at least three years of related experience in a role with significant web or social media management responsibilities.
Prior experience as a social media manager, web content producer, or other Internet site manager, with some experience in journalism or writing.
Thorough understanding of the digital media landscape and the ability to envision and predict future web/social media trends
Operational fluency with online/social media sites such as: Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Google+, Linked In, Instagram, Reddit, Disqus.
Experience working with complex and diverse stakeholders to produce specific content.
Experience working with designers and programmers.
Proven editorial experience, including editing, copy-writing, and proof-reading, with an eye for creativity and good design.
Excellent communication skills; ability to explain technical issues to non-technical people.
Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong writing with a visual storytelling sense, capability to translate scientific information into compelling content for the general public.
Ability to create and manipulate images using Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
Prior experience with Drupal (preferred), Word press, or other blogging platform.
Software skills: Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro.
Some experience working in a clinical institution, preferably in communications
Experience with and ability to edit video.
Background in search engine optimization, search engine marketing, marketing database, email, social media, and digital display advertising campaigns.
Strategic digital communications advocate who conceives of, collaborates with stakeholders on, and executes digital strategies to enhance external communications.
An excellent team player.
Ability to measure, analyze, and report performance on all digital marketing campaigns and assess against goals.
Understand and adhere to regulatory limitations and guidelines including HIPAA, FERPA, etc.
