This Community Health/Marketing Intern will be responsible for:
Creating relevant, unique content for two of Boston Children's affiliated Facebook communities.
Shooting and editing video content for social media and mobile app for internal staff.
Managing paid social media advertising campaigns on Facebook.
Supporting the maintenance of a content library (photos, videos and stories).
Coordinating and executing events and activities with the Office of Community Health.
Assisting the communications team with developing, writing, editing and proofing content.
Performing other duties as assigned.
To qualify, you must have:
Undergraduate student (entering senior year is preferred) or graduate student studying communications, marketing, public health, advertising or related fields.
Excellent writing skills.
Photography and video editing skills, particularly for optimizing content on social media platforms.
Experience creating and managing content on Facebook/other social media communities.
High level of experience using Facebook Business Manager and scheduling tools (Sprinklr, Hootsuite, etc.)
Understanding of high-level social media analytics.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in an organized manner.
Ability to work independently and with teams.
Interest and/or experience in public health, health care and nonprofit work.
A creative, self-starter with a willingness to learn and build an engaging social media community.
The ideal candidate will be available up to 16 hours per week with a start date in August 2019 and continuing through May 2020. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop communication skills in a health care environment and contribute to Boston Children's external communications strategy for community health.
