Minnesota Valley Electric Cooperative (MVEC), a progressive south metro member-owned utility with 100+ employees, is seeking a creative and proficient full-time Digital Marketing Specialist.
The Digital Marketing Specialist will work creatively in a fast-paced environment, supporting the development and implementation of the marketing and communication department's video and design projects, internal and external communications and content management for various platforms, while promoting MVEC’s mission and vision.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead by example.
Work with the Communications Supervisor on marketing and design for internal/external communication campaigns and promote the overall MVEC brand via print and electronically.
Develop, plan and design marketing materials such as newsletters, bill inserts and promotional flyers, as well as provide support and design concepts for electronic platforms such as websites, email marketing, social media and voice/video messaging.
Oversee the MVEC’s video library – from storyboarding to creating and publishing informational and entertaining videos that showcase MVEC safety, culture and products/service offerings.
Collaborate cross-departmentally in promoting energy programs/products/co-op services and aiding in development of new concepts/campaigns.
Provide back-up to the Communications Supervisor for social media postings and outage updates.

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree in marketing/media & graphic design/communications
Proficient with video editing programs, PhotoShop, Quark or InDesign, Microsoft Office Suite and WordPress content management for website maintenance
Excellent verbal, written communications, proofreading and graphic design skills
Knowledge of SEO, social media, email marketing, newsletter and other content marketing
Ability to brainstorm and implement creative ideas with good presentation skills
Be a motivated self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team
Have high degree of professionalism and organization skills to manage multiple projects
Comfortable networking with co-op peers and attend industry continuing education
Ability to organize workload and prioritize time to consistently meet daily, weekly, monthly deadlines
PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing/media & graphic design/communications
Two years' experience with marketing and digital communications
Completed college internship with instructor recommendation of proficiency
Special consideration for electric cooperative, utility or other co-op experience
