The Director of Field Marketing, Public Sector is responsible for the development and activation of the Public Sector field marketing plan for both wireless and wireline business (B2B) portfolios, and is the primary marketing conduit for the public sector sales leadership team. This Director will lead a team and collaborate with the cross functional shared marketing organization to develop segment programs, sales enablement, and pipeline lead acceleration. Crucial to this role is the need to gain a deep understanding of the segment opportunity and aid in the creation of marketing strategy to target the Federal, SLED, and Public Safety segments. He/she will contribute to the development of thought leadership and other content to drive prospect engagement; and, ensure that sales leaders and teams have the enablement tools needed to achieve pipeline, sales and revenue goals.
The Director of Field Marketing, Public Sector will be a leader who is highly motivated, experienced, and strategic, with hands on experience that blends both commercial and operational marketing expertise. This individual should be analytically driven, digitally oriented and can partner with segment business owners. He/she will directly oversee team members and team leaders. The Director will help their team grow and develop in their areas of expertise and ensure alignment of the work they perform with the greater marketing team and go-to-market and go-to-channel strategies.
Be knowledgeable about the entire value chain and/or technology stacks, competitive landscape and business value creation opportunities within our clients Public Sector areas.
Work closely with the newly established public sector go-to-market unit to develop public sector growth strategies that will enhance shareholder value.
Create and own field marketing plan and budget for public sector.
Understand and translate the Public Sector industry landscape and key issues and monitor trends.
Collaborate with Product Marketing on highly complex problems, develop deep insight into the strategic issues, and define needed value propositions with target customer segments.
Define the market opportunity and prioritize go to market solutions for the segment.
Ability to analyze segment critical KPI information and translate into proactive and reactive segment marketing strategies.
Act as a thought partner to the business by teaming with demand generation, (Digital), IMC, and Event Marketing to develop integrated programs, messaging constructs, and content for Public Sector.
Partner with sales on the best routes to market for solutions, products and bundles.
Collaborate with sales leadership to ensure trajectory of sales and revenue forecasts and business plans.
Build and maintain segment buyer personas, buyer journey maps, and target customer profiles.
Serve as a business expert, to help capture internal innovation projects and facilitate the rapid sharing of best practices.
Lead and leverage research engagements to develop and articulate perspectives on mid-term topics and provide thought leadership.
What we’re looking for...
This executive will be a motivated, positive, self-starter who is comfortable leading marketing programs from the ground up. S/he will have an in-depth knowledge of the clients field marketing portfolios and the Public Sector customer segment.
Key criteria include:
10+ years of marketing experience with a demonstrated success in developing strategies for creating new customer markets through direct, indirect, digital, field marketing, and account-based marketing programs (omni-channel).
Experience building and maintaining segment buyer personas, buyer journey maps, and target customer profiles.
Collaborative by nature and has a track record of establishing and facilitating effective cross-functional partnerships.
BS in marketing or business management. MBA is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills including ability to persuasively deliver presentations to senior executives.
Demonstrated ability to model a culture of accountability, transparency and data-driven decision making.
Knowledge of the clients portfolio required.
Knowledge of Public Sector required.
Must demonstrate intellectual curiosity, financial acumen, and creative thought leadership.
