PURPOSE OF POSITION The Marketing Manager II will work with internal departments and external agencies to develop and implement strategic digital marketing campaigns and programs that drive increased ridership by engaging current riders and expanding their use of the service, winning back lapsed riders, and building brand awareness to identify and entice potential new riders to try and keep using the service. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS At this level, incumbents typically independently represent the organization; serve as a subject matter expert who possesses highly specialized knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience; are responsible for a specialty program area that has a major impact on the organization. SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED - Receives general oversight from director or executive level management.
- Responsible for supervising and monitoring performance for a regular group of employees or department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The duties listed below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be interpreted as an exhaustive list of responsibilities. - Manage the Agency’s digital content strategy
- Strategize, plan and execute the full spectrum of digital marketing including PPC, SEO, display advertising, retargeting, social media, mobile and more
- Manage and implement a social media strategy (paid and organic) across all channels including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and Twitter
- Drive digital campaign tracking and analytics, make data-driven campaign recommendations, adjust campaigns as needed, measure KPIs and report results
- Identify, develop and maintain digital partnerships
- Contribute to overall integrated marketing communications plans
- Manage marketing/advertising agencies to complete projects within specified timelines and projected costs
- Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams including communications, creative services, government relations, IT, operations as well as others to create successful campaigns and programs
- Collaborate on campaigns with member agency marketing and communications representatives
- Perform other related duties as assigned
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, advertising or related field
- A minimum of three (3) years (5 preferred) of progressive experience in digital marketing and social media including supervising and managing staff
- A minimum of three years of experience developing and managing paid and organic social media campaigns
- Hands-on experience in digital advertising including SEO, paid search, digital display ads, retargeting, mobile
- Hands-on experience analyzing data (including Google Analytics), making and implementing recommendations to improve customer experience and campaign effectiveness
- A combination of training, education and or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered when determining minimum qualifications. Advanced relevant coursework may also substitute for a portion of required experience
- Valid Class C Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record of no more than three moving violations and no DUI’s within the last three years
Preferred Qualifications - Experience in travel, hospitality, tourism and/or transportation industries
- Experience in email marketing
- Fluent in Spanish, both verbal and written communication
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of: - Southern California market
- SCRRA policies and procedures.
Skilled in: - Strong project management skills; must be able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail
- Use of Microsoft Office suite of tools
- Use of web content management systems

- Work a flexible schedule with the ability to work nights and weekends, as required
- Display passion and curiosity for all things marketing and digital communications
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Transition between a stationary position at a desk or work location and move about Metrolink facilities or other work site locations
- Operate tools to perform the duties of the position; such as computers, office equipment and work-related machinery
- Transport equipment or boxes up to 25lbs
- Exchange ideas by means of communication
- Visual acuity to detect, identify and observe employees or train movement and any barriers to movement when working on or near railroad tracks
- Hear and perceive the nature of sounds when working on or near railroad tracks
- Balance, ascend/descend, climb, kneel, stoop, bend, crouch or crawl within assigned working conditions and or locations
Working Conditions Position requires work in a normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, or temperature. Work may also be conducted in outdoor environments, at construction sites, Railroad Track and Right-of-Way environments, and warehouse environments, with possible exposure to individuals who are hostile or irate, moving mechanical parts, and loud noises (85+ decibels, such as heavy trucks, construction, etc.).
