The Digital Marketing Specialist reports to the Associate Director of Communications. This individual will implement content and communications strategies on social media, the School’s website and other digital platforms to enhance the brand of Roland Park Country School. In addition, this individual will conduct analysis and closely monitor the latest digital marketing trends to successfully increase the School’s online presence and engagement with our external constituencies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works closely with our Enrollment and Advancement teams to develop and execute social media campaigns and other digital marketing strategies to reach our enrollment and fundraising goals.
Manages all of the School’s social media channels.
Creates and maintains a social media calendar for the School.
Utilizes creative approaches to social media, website posts and email campaigns.
Utilizes different marketing/social media tools to reach target audiences.
Stays abreast of social media trends in the broad market and in independent schools and provide recommendations that are relevant to the School’s marketing activities.
Writes compelling content for social media and other digital marketing campaigns.
Creates monthly reports of social media campaigns, website and email analytics; analyzes these reports to share performance and drive improvements.
Assists in the daily management of the School’s website, including content creation, news updates, routine maintenance and Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
Assists in regular e-communication campaigns.
Assists in photography and videography work for the School.
Evaluates survey data, market conditions, and competitor data.
Other duties as assigned.
Strong writing, photography and videography skills.
Strong understanding of digital marketing best practices.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to meet deadlines in a fast past environment while providing strong attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate widely with various constituencies throughout the School’s community.
Motivated self-starter and works well independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent computer skills, including experience with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint), Adobe Creative Suite products (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro and Premier Rush), MailChimp, Google Analytics, Facebook Analytics and website content management systems required.
Willingness to work some extended hours, night and weekends, as business need requires.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 3 years’ work experience in marketing, communications or similar field.
Experience with higher education or independent schools strongly preferred.
Requires ability to sit at a desk and use standard office equipment, such as computer and phone, for prolonged periods
Occasionally work outdoors
Must be able to ascend/descend stairs in an office building
Ability to walk turn, bend, reach, squat, push, pull and occasionally lift 30lbs
Occasional travel required
