The Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) represents all segments of the manufactured housing industry, and our 975 member companies provide housing for more than 22 million Americans. We are searching for a talented marketing professional who can help us build our brand, improve our communications and engage our members.
The Director of Marketing will work with the VP of Member Engagement and other MHI team members to market our industry education, programs, and events. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in marketing and content development and is eager to help build and refine B2B and B2C marketing operations. This individual will play a critical role as MHI focuses our efforts in growing our market by telling our story, engaging our members, and developing our team.
Lead the redesign of MHI’s website. Serve as primary contact with outside website designer helping to develop content architecture, design, voice and tone, and audience segmentation.
Act as internal owner of the website, working with stakeholders to ensure content is kept up to date, maintains consistent branding and reflects the growth of our industry.
Oversee publication of MHI’s digital newsletters. Help create and implement a strategy to segment content for MHI’s audiences to ensure they receive relevant content to keep them informed and subscribed.
Manage all email marketing, including GDPR compliance and email preferences.
Oversee design and creation of marketing materials, including ads, graphics, programs, videos, and other collateral. Secure and manage freelance designers as needed.
Create and execute an annual marketing calendar.
Lead MHI’s annual Excellence in Manufactured Housing Awards, including marketing, management of submissions, voting and judging processes, and recognition.
Maintain MHI’s brand book and ensure consistency across all communications channels.
Develop and manage an integrated social media strategy to build MHI audiences across social media platforms.
Build out MHI’s photo and video assets to showcase the attractiveness of manufactured homes and communities.
Measure, monitor, and report ROI on marketing initiatives and work to make continuous improvements.
Periodic domestic travel to meet with members and/or assist in the production of conferences / events.
Skills & Abilities:
Experience using content management platforms. Candidates who have worked on website redesign projects strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of existing and emerging inbound marketing approaches, social media platforms, and search engine optimization.
Excellent writing skills.
Creative, flexible and adaptable with strategic thinking mindset.
Skill with email marketing platforms such as Constant Contact or MailChimp.
Ability to edit videos for web and social media.
Proficiency with Google Analytics.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
Proven project management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and stakeholder relationships effectively.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing, communications or business, or commensurate experience.
5-7 years of marketing experience; association experience preferred.
3+ years’ experience in website management, email marketing (certifications a plus), and content management platforms.
Housing industry experience a plus.
Demonstrated commitment to excellence.
The Director of Marketing will report to the Vice President of Member Engagement and will additionally support communications efforts or our Policy and Team Development departments.
