Detailed Job Description Position Summary: The Senior Marketing Analyst is an integral part of a team that is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive analysis and research strategy for RIT's Division of Marketing and Communications. This position will support the entire marketing & communications team and its partners in developing data-driven solutions and maximizing the ROI for marketing tactics, vehicles, and channels. This individual will manage data collection, analysis, and reporting, as well as the development, assessment, and interpretation of information required for making critical decisions.
This person will work closely with the other departments within the Division of Marketing and Communications to measure and report on the impact of communication strategies on an ongoing basis. The Senior Marketing Analyst will provide data-driven recommendations for campaign and website optimizations.
This position reports to the Director of Marketing Intelligence within the Marketing Strategy and Creative Services Department in RIT's Division of Marketing and Communications.
Assist with developing RIT's Marketing Intelligence by building an analytics program aimed at supporting data-driven marketing planning and execution.
Gather audience insights through various research methodologies, including focus groups, surveys and advisory groups, focusing on outcomes related to the RIT Strategic Plan.
Track, analyze and report on outcomes against key performance indicators (KPIs).
Provide consistent and comprehensive reporting and analysis for each data stream; identify and report on areas of opportunity and improvement and provide data-driven recommendations to brand management and marketing communications teams.
Use sophisticated data gathering and visualization techniques to educate and direct campus partners on strategies grounded in consumer insights to improve website and campaign performance.
Work with the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Team to improve RIT's visibility through organic search by overseeing and organizing SEO optimization projects, researching keyword opportunities, tracking results and reporting on progress.
Work closely with the University Communications team to monitor and report on content consumption through website activity and media placement of news stories.
Work closely with the Social Media Team to develop a strong analytics plan for monitoring social media outcomes.
Required Minimum Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: Education Bachelors degree in related field: Marketing; Statistics or Business Administration
Experience Candidates must have 3-5 years of experience in analytics, data analysis and reporting in related positions in a data-driven organization, ideally with experience in higher education and marketing.
Marketing and analytical/problem-solving skills
Prior experience in marketing reporting, data management, and analysis to derive meaningful insights. Ability to think strategically, drawing inferences from imperfect and incomplete information.
Experience with or willingness to learn constantly evolving web analytics methodologies, including, but not limited to: Google Analytics, SEO/SEM tools, etc.
Proficiency in MS Office applications and database applications, including CRM databases and database marketing.
Experience developing dashboards using data visualization programs (ex: Google Data Studio, Tableau, etc).
Experience with qualitative and quantitative research development, conducting/fielding research studies (online and in person) and final research analysis and reporting. Ability to develop and program online surveys using survey design platforms (for example, Qualtrics) a plus.
Demonstrated ability to effectively network and build relationships with various internal and external constituencies is essential.
Candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to take initiative, and be resourceful in an environment of constrained resources.
Excellent written and verbal communication and strong organizational and presentation skills are essential.
Ability to interact independently, confidently and effectively with all levels of management.
Experience with Google Tag Manager
Familiarity with statistical analysis software such as SPSS and/or SAS.
Experience in database languages/reporting and SQL
Prior experience with Google Big Query and Google Optimize
Experience in higher education
