The Director, Marketing is the captain of Visit Seattle campaigns. They are a leader, a team player, a creative, a great writer, a community connector, an ally, a confident presenter and, most importantly, a huge fan of Seattle. They will work with a talented and innovative team of creatives to amplify all the things that make Seattle a must-visit, must-meet, must-see destination. They will be a part of an organization dedicated to pursing an anti-racist future for Seattle and beyond.
What you’ll do:
Create and manage multi-channel campaigns with agency partners highlighting points of difference for Seattle with a focus and priority on uplifting voices of historically disadvantaged neighborhoods and BIPOC communities
Work with creative agency and internal departments to develop and execute multi-channel meetings and convention business marketing
Provide measurable ROI strategies, most importantly hotel occupancy growth
Actively collaborate with the convention sales and services team to market Seattle as a preferred destination for organizations/associations of communities of color and women.
Work with team members, partners and community partners to create strategic partnerships, which include shining a light on communities of color within the region
Be an active member of the local hospitality community and work closely with hotel marketing liaisons
Understand key market segments that are critical to Visit Seattle’s success – meetings & conventions, leisure activities, local partner relations, etc.
Participate in community groups/boards
Help build strong relationships with local communities, neighborhoods, diverse groups, businesses, non-profits, and regional organizations
Present campaign insights to internal and external stakeholders
Be a brand steward, ensure continuity in our marketing message and voice
Express your passion for travel in everything we do
Who you are:
Five+ years of related experience required
Experience in building relationships with BIPOC communities
Able to communicate across lines of diversity
Excellent interpersonal, writing, presenting and communications skills
Experience managing advertising campaigns either from client-side or agency-side required
Passion for travel
Knowledge of marketing and public relations as they relate to the hospitality industry
Knowledge of the hospitality industry and its importance to the local economy; ability to understand the role of Visit Seattle in the community.
Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, diplomacy and maintain confidentiality in a wide variety of internal and public situations.
Excellent interpersonal, writing and communications skills

Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook
