The Marketing/Communications Associate must be a team-oriented, detail-oriented, highly organized self-starter with an ability to be flexible and proactive. This position supports and reports to the Director of Advancement in the planning, execution, and implementation of marketing and advertising activities.
This position is responsible for social media content and coordinating communications as needed; reporting on and maintaining digital platforms; website maintenance and updates; implementation of new software or programs as needed; improvements to SEO; and reporting on Google and Facebook Analytics.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assists with the creation, coordination, and distribution of marketing materials
Writes and posts social media content
Designs and releases monthly newsletter
Writes and distributes press releases to appropriate media
Coordinates blog and ensures placement on the appropriate platforms
Ensures consistency of branding
Creates content for and posts digital ads
Acts as back-up for creative design
Maintains and researches resources including clinicians, educational consultants, and relocation companies/realtors
Performs competitive market research on feeder schools
Maintains and researches opportunities for community outreach
Performs website maintenance and updates (Finalsite experience is a plus)
Provides suggestions and implements SEO improvements
Provides reporting on Google Analytics and Facebook
Implements new software and platforms as needed
Provides support with graphic content
Maintains and updates Constant Contact
Other duties as assigned
Supports special projects (Annual Gala, Alumni and athletic events) as requested
Occasional evening and weekend work required
Photojournalistic lens with ability to see stories as they unfold
Passion for creative visuals through photography and videography
Experience working with Finalsite, Blackbaud and Raiser’s Edge
Ability to communicate the story of Briarwood, our mission, and values
A self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team on several projects concurrently, and possess excellent communication, organizational and creative thinking skills
Strong writing and oral communication skills
Experience and ability to work cooperatively with teams including staff, parents, donors, and volunteers.
Proficient in MS Office, database entry or fundraising software, google drive, Photoshop, or similar graphic design software
Experience with web editing, Google ads and analytics, and SEO
Project management, problem-solving, organizational, and prioritizing skills are essential
High energy level and flexibility
Degree in marketing or business with a minimum of 3 - 5 years of marketing experience preferred
