The Director of Marketing and Fan Experience will be primarily responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive marketing plans for men’s and women’s basketball, assigned Olympic sports, and the needs for the overall athletic department. An emphasis is placed on enhancing the gameday experience; building brand equity on and off campus; developing and implementing strategic advertising plans and revenue generation.
Responsible for effective management, coordination and implementation of all internal and external marketing objectives for Saint Joseph’s University Athletics Department and all 20 NCAA Division I sports programs.
Develop comprehensive marketing plans for the overall athletics department, with a primary focus on men’s and women’s basketball. Marketing plans are expected to be inclusive (attendance growth, in-game production, gameday strategies, ticket sales, social media, etc.).
Effectively oversee game day execution of established marketing/promotional plan, including but not limited to, promotions, giveaways, crowd engagement, video and game production, etc.
Implement initiatives to enhance the gameday experience which includes, but not limited to promotions, in-venue entertainment & fan engagement.
Create and coordinate the annual marketing calendar and deadlines to ensure revenue and attendance goals are being met.
Work in conjunction with the Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Relations to develop media plans that focus on meeting the needs of the department utilizing both multi and Omni channel strategies that will enhance the St. Joseph Athletics brand.
Manage budget for athletic marketing and promotions.
Oversee email marketing calendars, content and execution.
Responsible for effective collaboration with campus and community constituents in support of marketing and promotion of athletics events.
Collaborate and oversee the process of marketing collateral (e.g., Intro videos, commercials, posters).
Recruit, hire and train marketing and creative interns.
Assist in the creation and management of social media strategy and execution.
Contributes to the external team by providing strategies for additional revenue generation.
Work directly with various internal and external constituencies such as youth groups and coaches to ensure proper execution of the community outreach plan.
Responsible for strict adherence to NCAA, conference, and University rules and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications: (Education/Training and Experience)
Bachelor’s degree required in sports management, athletic administration, business administration, marketing or related field.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with various constituencies.
Ability to work effectively with diverse user groups.
Knowledge of NCAA and A10 rules and regulations.
The successful candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background check
The successful candidate may be required to obtain First Aid, CPR, motor vehicle safety certification, and other job-related certifications
