Carnegie Mellon University's department of Integrated Innovation Institute is searching for an Associate Director of Marketing. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing essential support by leading marketing initiatives that enhance the mission, vision and values of the iii.
This role will manage marketing efforts for our residential master's degrees based at the Pittsburgh and Silicon Valley campuses (3 degrees at present). Along with the residential master's degrees, the iii is launching a new online certificate program later this year and the Associate Director of Marketing will be integral in a successful launch and growth of the new program. You will manage digital advertising campaigns, maintain marketing budgets, develop strategic messaging and articles on behalf of iii leadership and explore new marketing channels for more exposure.
This role will report to the Director of Operations for the iii.
Core responsibilities include:
Manages digital advertising campaigns with external vendors
Works with iii team (admissions, alumni, student services, operations) to support various marketing needs throughout the year
Manages marketing team
Manages marketing budget and ROI metrics for specific campaigns, events and outreach
Develops all strategic email communications and articles for iii leadership
Explores and manages new communication channels (examples podcasts, Medium)
Strengthens internal CMU marketing presence at the Pittsburgh & Silicon Valley campuses
Supports iii PR (minimal/as needed)
Provides peer-to-peer editing across marketing team
Additional special project work as assigned

Bachelor's degree required
Experience within higher education graduate degrees and an understanding of prospective student admissions & recruiting cycles is strongly preferred.
