St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, MD seeks a Communications and Marketing Associate to begin immediately.

Position Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Communications and Marketing Associate is a full-time, non-exempt position that will be responsible for managing the CTTL’s website and social media presence, providing search engine marketing and optimization for the CTTL websites, creating copy and content for the CTTL, and managing the school’s constituent newsletters.
The Communications and Marketing Associate will perform SEM and SEO work for the CTTL including ensuring the center’s sites are receiving increased traffic by improving attribution (tagging/tracking), searchability, backlink generation, performing site keyword analysis and domain ranking, and reworking content for keyword performance.
The Communications and Marketing Associate will, in coordination with the Director of Communications and Director of the CTTL, manage and grow the CTTL’s social media presence across all platforms.
The Communications and Marketing Associate will assist with all email marketing efforts including creation of content, design formatting & graphics, list cultivation and procurement, coordinating design and ordering for printed collateral and other materials for the CTTL.
The Communications and Marketing Associate will oversee the school’s weekly newsletters to parents along with regular newsletters to alumni, grandparents, parents of alumni, and international students.
Activities & Tasks
Enable and enhance sales performance by producing and disseminating amazing content and collateral to surface and engage leads.
Plan, research, write, edit and publish short- and long-form content that inspires, educates, and builds trust & reputation with education professionals
Use multiple content distribution channels to drive leads across all buyer stages and subscribers
Regularly produce various content types, including email, video, social media posts, blogs, case studies, and white papers/eBooks
Periodically audit and update existing content
Identify and interview experts in mind brain education to feature in content pieces
Identify opportunities, write, and pitch articles to relevant third-party platforms
Edit, format, and upload content produced by other members of the team
Analyze content marketing metrics and makes changes as needed
Conceive, create, and execute email, social, and other marketing campaigns.
Collaborate with other departments to create inspiring content
Enable sales with value prop and solution-oriented collateral
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree, as well as 2-3 years of related work experience, in digital marketing and communications. The candidate should be an excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use data to inform all decisions. The candidate will be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress and have a working knowledge of various Content Management Systems and all social media platforms. Knowledge of the independent school market will be an advantage in hiring, as will a highly collaborative work style.
Digital marketing tactics including SEO, email marketing, and web analytics
Prior experience in marketing for product and/or feature launches
Outstanding written communication and storytelling skills
Attention to detail and a passion for editing and grammar
Background in journalism, first-person research, or interviewing experience
Excellent at creating compelling and clear writing
Experience effectively managing projects and balancing multiple deadlines.
Experience using Mail Chimp (or similar service)
Experience with Salesforce and SEO tools like AHREFS
2-3 years of experience writing, ideally for a B2B or education audience
