The National Hydropower Association (NHA) is seeking a Sales and Membership Engagement Manager. Join the team that champions waterpower, America’s first renewable energy resource, as an essential part of a reliable, carbon-free electricity system.
The Sales and Membership Engagement Manager position reports to the VP of Operations & Member Services. Core responsibilities are working with previous customers and warm leads to understand each company’s needs and to create a personalized sponsorship package. The Sales and Membership Engagement Managerwill work with the NHA team to develop a strategy and lead a comprehensive sales program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Establish and nourish relationships with NHA Members and the waterpower industry at large.
Consultative outreach to the waterpower industry to understand the needs of each company and to create personalized sponsorship offerings.
Sell NHA assets to include:
Exhibit space and sponsorships for NHA’s Clean Currents tradeshow and conference
Table top space and sponsorships for NHA’s Waterpower Week policy conference
Sponsorship for NHA’s Regional Meetings (4 meetings throughout the year)
Ad space in NHA’s POWERHOUSE media platform
Other products as appropriate
Develop and maintain sponsorship contact details in an association management system.
Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the waterpower industry.
Work collaboratively with NHA staff to plan and develop an integrated sponsorship and advertising program.
Identify and cultivate relationships with affiliated organizations for potential partnership opportunities.
Cultivate and maintain awareness of relevant sponsorship trends and opportunities.
Recruit potential NHA Members through the sales process.
Develop and foster long-term relationships with new and existing members and their representatives.
Establish credibility and trust among the waterpower industry.
Provide exceptional customer service.
Skilled in providing an exceptional customer experience through written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to maintain positive communication and relationships with members, industry, staff, and all levels of management.
Creativity, diplomacy, and ability to navigate among competing stakeholders.
Excellent ability to balance multiple priorities, and to effectively communicate the status of projects.
Strong organization and self-management skills; highly self-motivated.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced setting.
