Our location in Abbott Park, Illinois currently has an opportunity for a Director, Corporate Marketing Strategy.
The primary purpose of the Corporate Marketing Strategy function is to support the execution of Abbott's Identity Long Range Plan. The role holder will develop and guide implementation of a purpose-led, insights-driven, multi-year integrated global campaign strategy to build recognition and reputation for Abbott with critical stakeholders. To deliver this, the role holder will partner with external agencies, Divisional marketing staff, corporate functions (e.g., HR, Quality, Regulatory), and across the Global Marketing organization (e.g., content, public affairs, citizenship, insights, and other functions in corporate marketing, etc.).
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Lead cross-functional teams that deliver globally integrated campaigns, programs, and media plans that generate out-sized impact in building Abbott's reputation with key stakeholders with earned media potential.
Evaluate market opportunities that can differentiate Abbott from competitors, and that position Abbott as a leader shaping the future of health.
Translate, integrate, and apply market trends and audience insights into campaign strategies to deliver distinctive value propositions and improve the relevance of communications and strategy.
Work with internal and external creatives/agencies to develop and deploy campaigns.
Partner with Divisions to co-create opportunities that drive cohesion in building Abbott's corporate identity across the enterprise.
Apply global strategies to key regional markets, partnering with local Affiliates to support and enable execution.
Prepare business cases with requisite analytical rigor and the ability to make strategic recommendations based on the analysis.
Support implementation and compliance of policies and procedures throughout the Corporate Marketing organization.
Manage marketing spend to approved targets, and support Plan, LBE, and LRP budgeting processes.
Participate in all campaign and related project teams, budget reviews, and other pertinent meetings and presentations.
Support development of marketing staff.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Bachelor degree required or equivalent experience; MBA preferred
Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience with Divisional Marketing, Brand Management, Business Consulting, demonstrating the ability to deliver impactful integrated marketing programs
Financial acumen to be able to analyze and understand the financial implications of business strategies
Experience in interacting effectively with executive-level management
Strategic planning and analysis
An active collaborator with the ability to work in a dynamic and matrixed environment
Ability to inspire a viable vision through oral and written communication skills, creativity, and strong problem-solving ability
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead in a motivating style
