Maryvale Preparatory School, a Catholic independent school for young women in grades six through 12, is seeking a Director of Communications and Marketing. This is a full-time exempt position. The ideal candidate should have seven to 10 years of experience in marketing, communications or a related field and possess the high-level skills to advance the following priorities including: plan and execute programs that enhance the visibility and public perception of Maryvale; organize and execute marketing and communications initiatives that support the school, admissions, development, and academic objectives of Maryvale; ensure clear and transparent communication between and among all constituencies; and define messaging and branding, including signature programs. The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Review, establish and oversee the production of all school publications and communications, including print, video, electronic, etc.
Supervise the Digital Media Specialist and partner with advancement, admissions, academic, as well as diversity and inclusion teams.
Manage, contribute to, and maintain all content posted on the school website.
Assist the Administration with issues of crisis management and communication.
Develop and implement annual marketing and communications plan.
Manage media relations, including writing and distributing press releases, placing stories and cultivating positive relations with local media.
Manage all advertising initiatives for the school.
Submit and manage budget to support annual plan.
Manage communications from President and Board of Trustees, as requested.
Review and make recommendations regarding data collection, email management and contact upgrades.
Manage school’s relationships with outside website vendor, photographers, graphic designers and printing firms.
Conduct demographic and market research as needed.
Maintain common editorial and graphic standards across school publications for branding reputation and integrity.
Oversee design and installation of permanent and promotional signage on campus.
Perform other duties as deemed necessary.
The ideal candidate will possess:
Seven to 10 years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, or related field.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with a website content management system; knowledge of Finalsite is a plus.
Experience managing multiple social media platforms in a professional setting.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Capability of balancing multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
Strong editing skills.
Experience in an independent school setting is a plus.
A willingness to work collaboratively with administration, faculty, students, parents, and alumnae.
