This position is responsible for the day to day Marketing, Communications, and Public Relations activities of the organization. This includes strategically building and promoting CREFC’s brand and the marketing of its content, conferences, sponsorships, and products.
Develop and implement brand strategy.
Ensure consistent branding across all association initiatives, products, and services.
Develop long and short-term strategic marketing plans to promote the association, its leadership, events, products, and services.
Develop and implement proper communication vehicles in order to best portray CREFC as the voice of the industry to all potential constituencies (members, press, non-members, policy makers, etc.)
Manage and approve the creation, design, and production of all marketing collateral and promotional materials. Work collaboratively with team members on other aspects including:
Print and electronic advertisements
And other delivery channels.
Develop Marketing strategy for:
Conferences and events
Thought leadership pieces
Manage CREFC’s website to ensure all content is updated on a routine basis. Analyze website analytics to measure success and make adjustments as necessary.
Manage CREFC’s email marketing platform and monitor email analytics to measure success and make adjustments as necessary. Create automation campaigns as required.
Develop social media strategy and monitor analytics.
Serve as primary interface with third party graphic designers.
Work in conjunction with third party public relations firm to:
Develop talking points required to respond to media requests.
Maintain current publication strategy and recommend appropriate avenues for current media activities.
Write and ensure proper distribution of press releases.
Coordinate development of media interest in CREFC and ensure regular contact with target media. Act as the Association’s representative with the media.
Maintain an accurate press database of Managing Editors and Reporters for the CMBS and financial trade.
Set up interviews for key CREFC staff and members. Coordinate preparation for these interviews.
Coordinate press summits when necessary.
Attend CREFC events, as required, with a special emphasis on the media.
Work across the CREFC team and members to ensure the organization’s message and key priorities are conveyed on all platforms and throughout all mediums.
Have excellent understanding of social media, PR and marketing both setting strategy as well as execution of tactics.
Develop high impact and innovative campaigns to incorporate organization thought leadership into communications and marketing plans.
Superior writing and communications skills are essential.
Effective time management. Proven ability to simultaneously handle multiple assignments, prioritize and work within deadlines with minimal supervision.

Thorough knowledge of email distribution software including marketing automation, A/B testing, campaign management.

Excellent working knowledge of the commercial real estate finance industry, who the players are (lenders, loan and bond investors, private equity firms, loan servicers, rating agencies) and how they interact with each other.
