IU Studios is seeking an intern to help develop a diversity internship program. Our intern will work with a multi-faceted team that has come together to develop an internship program for underrepresented people in the marketing industry. The intern will be a key member of the project and assist the team in gaining key insights for a successful launch of the program.
Distill insights from previous research compiled by the team and identify any additional research that may be required.
Assist with designing and conducting surveys to students.
Assist with designing and conducting focus group sessions with students.
Propose recommendations based on research of how to structure the internship program (i.e. duration of internship, location of internship, tasks of internship, etc.).
Develop a communications plan with the team on how best to recruit and engage future interns.
Assist with the interview process for future interns.
Manage multiple tasks, assignments, and deadlines from more than one team member.
Capture, review and share meeting notes.
Prep agenda, meeting space, and materials for team meetings.
Maintain effective, constant, open and positive communication, both written and oral, with all involved parties.
Provide administrative support, as requested, updating project status docs, scheduling meetings/interviews/presentations, etc.
Determine specific, aggressive, trackable goal(s) to accomplish by the end of the internship.
Present to an internal agency team a wrap-up presentation of what was learned/accomplished.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University.
Completion of at least four college semesters.
Pursuing a major in communication, advertising, marketing, media, management, psychology, or a related field.
Successful completion of at least one advertising, communication, or marketing-specific course.
Successful completion of a previous marketing research internship or at least 9 credit hours of marketing research classes.
Commitment to ensuring the internship plan is inclusive and drives a sense of belonging for all participants based upon proven approach.
Collaboration experience with group projects.
Finesse to accept direction/feedback and grow from it.
Excellent communication skills.
Possess an understanding of, or the desire to learn about, marketing research and plan development.
Ability to plan and schedule tasks effectively, arrange workload to get desired results, allow flexibility in planning to accommodate changing needs, and adapt well in unexpected occurrences.
Effective decision-making skills when faced with a problem, including the ability to creatively evaluate situations calmly and identify solutions to benefit all parties.
Desire to take advantage of and seek out learning opportunities to gain insight and experience.
Possess strong attention to detail, initiative, and stellar organizational skills.
Average of 10 working hours each week throughout a majority of the semester.
