ESG factors are playing an increasingly important role in the global debt markets, and across Fitch Group we have been responding to the surge in interest in these topics by producing research, data, models, analysis and training on all aspects of ESG in Credit. To make it simpler for our clients and partners to access and understand the whole Fitch Group perspective on ESG we have decided to bring all of these products together under one umbrella brand - Sustainable Fitch.
The role of Marketing Director for Sustainable Fitch will be responsible for building & growing awareness of the Sustainable Fitch brand globally in all of our target sectors. The key to the role is collaboration across business units, bringing together disparate offerings from across the group and organising and presenting them with common branding, language and visual identity. Note that this role is not responsible for the commercialisation of these products; Sustainable Fitch products will be sold by Fitch Solutions and Fitch Learning respectively. However, the Sustainable Fitch brand is clearly a significant part of the overall lead generation efforts for these products, and as such this role will have a close working relationship with their counterparts across Fitch Group marketing.
This role reports into the Fitch Group Chief Marketing Officer. The key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
1. Owning & evolving the Sustainable Fitch brand:
a. Working with the Design & Creative team on visual identity.
b. Defining and promoting the brand purpose.
c. Monitoring the competitive landscape and sharing key developments with relevant stakeholders.
d. Developing a Sustainable Fitch vernacular that helps differentiate the various Fitch Group ESG products.
e. Managing agency relationships as appropriate.
Measures: regular brand positioning surveys relative to competition.
2. Owning & evolving sustainablefitch.com:
a. Work with the Web team to optimise the site for relevant traffic, SEO effectiveness, conversion rates, and leads through to Fitch Solutions and Fitch Learning.
b. Keep the site updated with new products, collateral and research.
c. Develop a paid strategy for PPC, Display and other advertising channels.
Measures: traffic from key audiences; conversion rates; leads generated; Domain Authority or similar.
3. Owning & evolving outbound strategies:
a. Work with key stakeholders across the business to build an outbound content strategy including but not limited to Newsletters, Social, Webinars, Podcasts, Clubhouse.
b. Work with business stakeholders & Events team on a sponsored and owned Events schedule.
Measures: increasing audience size per channel; content engagement; event attendance by key audience groups.
This role will require getting stuck in to the weeds of brand marketing. It is not purely a strategy role - it needs someone who is prepared to get their hands dirty. Skills & Experience Required
We are seeking an individual able to demonstrate the following:
Relevant marketing experience, though aptitude is valued more than years of experience. Some experience in a B2B environment is essential; experience in Financial Services desirable but not essential. Knowledge of & a passion for ESG topics would be highly desirable. Experience of working with a globally distributed team is important; Fitch operates in many different markets. Entrepreneurial mind set. This role will require both strategic understanding of our businesses and their markets, as well as the attitude & ability to get involved in the execution. Patience and good people skills a must. This role will work with many different people across many parts of our business. Analytic, evidence-based approach. The ability to define objective metrics, gather data to support those metrics, and make stop/go decisions based exclusively on that data is vital.
