The Associate Director, Marketings primary duty is to be a facile and creative digital storyteller. This responsibility involves assessing and creating the New York City Media Labs voice (in collaboration with the Executive Director), the Media Labs marketing plan and marketing strategy, planning, coordinating, and leading marketing efforts. Develop and implement NYC Media lab's marketing, communications, events and social media effort that targets specific audiences and stakeholders increasing brand awareness and membership.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in marketing or related area
Preferred Education: Master's Degree marketing, media, communications or related area
Required Experience: 5+ years experience working in marketing, not-for-profit, academic, or research/membership organizations
Preferred Experience: 5+ years Work with a leading not for profit, leading marketing with a focus on membership acquisition.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Experience in marketing and leading a marketing team. Proven marketing campaign experience. Effective time management skills and the ability to multitask. Strong copywriting skills. Strong graphic design esthetic. Understanding of new platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other emerging platforms. Attention to detail -and ability to write technical and complex concepts with an accessible and descriptive style. Proven ability to manage budgets. Professional and proactive work ethic. Excellent interpersonal, written, oral communication skills and a collaborative style. Experience with digital marketing forms such as social media marketing and content marketing. Competency in Google applications including Docs, Slides, Sheets. Competency in working with graphic designers in Canva, Fiverr, Photoshop, etc.
