The American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) is seeking a marketing communications professional to join our team and assist in shaping a growing Marketing and Communications division.
ADHA represents the needs of registered dental hygienists, dental hygiene students and the greater oral care community through leadership, education, advocacy, and the value of belonging to a professional organization.
ADHA is in the process of developing a new centralized structure and organization for Marketing and Communications. Previously a more decentralized function, this new internal structure is designed to help ensure a more cohesive and consistent brand experience. The Marketing and Communications Manager will help develop strategic marketing messaging for ADHA’s core audiences -- dental hygiene professionals as well as students, corporate partners, legislators, and the general public.

Position Location: Remote
Collaborate with and direct external creative agency in the development of tactics that support marketing plans and strategy for various divisions
Develop strategic messaging for a myriad of channels including website, thought leadership articles, e-newsletter, e-mail marketing, social media and leadership, presentations/speechwriting
Help assess, evolve and manage association-wide email calendar to ensure strategic and timely communications
Assistance with database/audience targeting, and learning a command of Higher Logic/Informz email platform
Build and manage production schedules across multiple print and digital tactics to ensure on-time, accurate completion of marketing initiatives
Cultivate partnerships with internal colleagues as your clients to develop, coordinate, direct, and facilitate strategic communications
Review all marketing and communications assets to ensure they meet style guide standards (AP) and assist in the development and oversight of an ADHA style guide
Assist Director of Marketing and Communications in the development and execution of association-wide content strategy. Develop and manage the editorial calendar.
Plan, develop and execute ADHA social media strategy and posting responsibilities.
Event and video support via script development, editing and on-site coordination as needed for both virtual and live event attendee and speaker support
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field
5+ years’ experience in marketing communications
Not-for-profit member-based association experience a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office, experience with or ability to utilize third-party email software (Informz/Higher Logic or similar software)
Familiarity with AP Style and resourcefulness to find answers
Strong copywriting/content developing and editing are a must. Attention to detail is essential.
Excellent verbal, analytical, listening, and presentation skills
Project management, superb communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in teams
Skilled in articulating the vision and mission of the organization
Highly organized, creative, and self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to adjust writing style to target audiences while following style guide standards
