The Communications & Marketing Coordinator will help create and promote NACCE’s brand and identity, sharing our mission and related initiatives on a variety of communication platforms. This role is responsible for social media outreach, regular email communications including a bi-weekly eNewsletter, supporting sponsor and partner fulfillment efforts, and marketing NACCE events (conference, regional summits, webinars and digital meet-ups) and the NACCE Store. Summary of Responsibilities Serves as a core member of the communications and marketing team, focusing on messaging that aligns with NACCE’s strategic areas of focus. Produces a broad array of digital and print promotional/communication materials for the organization in collaboration with NACCE staff and leadership teams, ensuring that all materials present a clear, unified, and positive image for the organization and/or brand.
Drafts, reviews, and edits original content, such as communications plans, digital and traditional marketing plans, mailouts, emails, talking points, presentations, articles, event summaries, blog posts, social copy and other updates on behalf of the organization following internal approval processes and pre-publication protocols within the organization.
Maintains a database of press and vendor contacts. Navigates publishing NACCE press releases through a national service provider and through all NACCE communications channels, providing summary metrics to internal stakeholders.
Promotes and attends special events and functions, reports on milestones and activities, new products and services, and arranges for photograph and/or press coverage for special events. Offers live coverage of NACCE events as needed across a variety of platforms.
Advances and creates brand awareness on social media for both internal and external audiences, leveraging existing channels (Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Higher Logic/NACCE Meets) and exploring new opportunities (e.g. Instagram) for the organization.
Develops a deep understanding of NACCE’s content management system (Novi), creating and updating web and event content accessible online at www.nacce.com.
Supports the NACCE Store and organizes marketing, membership and event giveaways, keeping inventory of items on hand and coordinating all mailings.
Collaborates with grant and partnership project managers to fulfill marketing and communications deliverables included in contracts and agreements, including email posts, social media inclusion, and web updates.
Serves as technical support for member webinars and other digital engagements, and as onsite support for live events as requested. Develops and maintains exhibit booth materials, inventory of branded collateral, and continuing education support, like design thinking and/or maker kits.
Attends regular team, community, stakeholder and other relevant meetings and takes on other duties as assigned by the executive leadership team. Works well with all team members to capture member updates and trends, identifying connections to advance organizational goals.

Key Qualifications Bachelors’ degree in marketing, communications or related field preferred, with three years or more of progressively responsible experiences related to marketing, communications, or public relations is required. Experience within a 501(c)3 or (c)6 non-profit is a plus. Proficiency in CMS/web-based content systems, project management platforms (e.g. ClickUp, SmartSheet, Basecamp), common social media platforms, the Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom and/or other video conferencing tools, and the Adobe Creative Suite is desired.
The selected candidate will have a track record of meeting deadlines, producing high-quality work product in a timely manner, and a commitment to being accessible and maintaining a professional work environment. This role requires a self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills, exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. The ability to work in a team and maintain collaborative relationships is critical.
Location & Travel Requirements The Communications & Marketing Coordinator reports to NACCE’s Headquarters in Cary, North Carolina. This position may operate on a hybrid schedule, reporting in person four days per week and working from home one day mid-week while maintaining public hours daily between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. This role requires an estimated 10-20% local and national travel to facilitate relationship building in North Carolina and nationally.
Per NACCE policy, the candidate selected must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination status prior to the beginning of employment. This role will operate in shared office space with appropriate safety protocols in place.
