The College of Arts & Sciences has an outstanding opportunity for a Marketing Production Specialist.
The Marketing Production Specialist provides general marketing communications support across the College of Arts & Sciences four divisions. Provide video and photography expertise, manage and support our Digital Asset Management system, provides basic graphic design support, provide support on social media efforts, monitor the College's web properties and provide updates as needed, and general administrative support. All of these activities are done in support of advancing the College's academic and frontline fundraising priorities.
RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for supporting both frontline fundraising efforts and student recruitment activities. The activities that this position will focus on include:
VIDEO AND PHOTOGRAPHY (60%) Scout locations for video and photography efforts; coordinate logistics and production schedules for shoots; operate camera, lighting, and audio equipment; organize and archive footage; transcribe interviews; log footage; edit video; retouch and color correct video and photography; edit and master audio files for final output; create digital assets for web and social media; mentor student workers on video and photography best practices; schedule and produce visual assets for the College’s monthly newsletter Perspectives; coordinate with units, departments, and centers for shoots and new asset gathering as well as sharing out the College’s assets to our campus partners and external partners; monitor and manage the team’s photo/video equipment needs and supplies; and maintain video/photography equipment.
DIGITAL PRODUCTION (15%) Learn and implement advanced techniques for web pages and digital assets to support the marketing communications team with implementing digital communications and social media campaigns; update College’s website properties with new visual assets; identify and purchase image and video assets to support production efforts; organize and maintain the College's photo archives; organize and maintain the College’s DAM-Digital Asset Management System, onboard and train new users to the DAM.
DESIGN SUPPORT (15%) Work on design templates in Adobe Creative Cloud InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator to produce a variety of collateral for print, web and social media; assist in photo asset preparation for graphic designers; interact with vendors to ensure quality; develop quotes/bids for projects; produce in-house mock-ups; and coordinate approval process of projects.
GENERAL SUPPORT (10%) Conduct research in support of projects; provide general administrative support (e.g., scheduling meetings, drafting agendas, taking minutes of meetings, track projects within project management software, etc.); monitor the College's web properties and provide updates to web properties as needed; update and support College’s virtual tours; support social media efforts for the College; serve as a photo/video liaison to on campus partners and other vendors as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee the efforts of photo/video student workers assigned to the marketing communications team.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in graphic arts or a related field. Minimum two years experience working on video and photography projects.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Adept with photo, video and lighting equipment. Adept at sound recording and editing with Lavs mics, boom and Zoom recorders. Adept at organizational proficiency, project management and digital asset management; ability to prioritize work and juggle multiple projects simultaneously. Expertise in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom Classic, Premiere Pro, Media Encoder and Audition. Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud InDesign and Illustrator. Experience with Microsoft Office and Teams. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently. Must be flexible in a fast-paced setting and able to work under deadline pressure. Must be customer service-minded in the interaction, planning, and implementation of all projects.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with higher education institutions and/or in-house marketing team at a complex organizational environment. Experience working in a video production studio and a photo studio. Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud After Effects on motion graphics. Familiarity with large databases digital asset management such as MediaValet and web content management systems such as Drupal or WordPress.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Cubicle/Open workspace environment which may result in additional or higher levels of noise and visual distractions. Hybrid work environment negotiable.
Ability to work evening and weekend hours, as necessary, on short or limited notice.
Must have regular and reliable transportation for local travel and willing to travel when necessary.
