Detailed Job DescriptionPlease note-this position may require some evenings and weekends as needed.Responsible for creating and executing digital marketing initiatives, digital media specific projects, and campaigns in a technology-grounded marketing environment, in support of University Advancement's efforts to meet engagement, fundraising, and stewardship goals. Serves as content creator and the administrator and super user of multiple digital platforms including but not limited to AirTable, Blackbaud's Luminate Online, Social Studio and internally created online project portals. Collaborates with other key divisional partners to administer content on University Advancement's web pages to drive constituent engagement through coordinated and integrated email and social media as needed, in a complex, multi-constituent environment.
The Digital Marketing and Communications Manager position workd in collaboration and closely with each member of the University Advancement marketing team to provide strategic and effective digital marketing recommendations for all UADV initiatives.
Major responsibilities:
- Develop strategic and data-driven digital marketing plans as a component of the larger marketing and communications strategy for various divisional initiatives.
- Work with the marketing and communications manager and graphic designer to deliver appropriate messaging and creative assets for each email and social media marketing campaign and ensure that each email meets brand and accessibility specifications.
- Coordinate and execute email marketing initiatives in collaboration with internal partners to ensure cohesion and alignment with brand and editorial standards.
- Reponsible for ensuring that all email marketing strategies are executed in an efficient and effective manner. Monitor total email impressions delivered routinely and adjust email distribution plans accordingly.
- Monitor, track, report and analyze email performance, internal partner feedback, market trends, and interpret results to amend and execute marketing plans and corresponding tactics.
- Provide leadership and editorial guidance and make recommendations on content and promotion to maximize readership and open rates of email marketing.
- Develop, coordinate, and execute social media strategies (organic or paid) in support of specific campaign goals and other divisional initiatives.
- Create and execute engaging content (photography, graphics, video, copy) that informs, educates, or otherwise encourages engagement with RIT and the RIT Alumni Association.
- Monitor social media and actively listen to social conversation across channels; manage posts, respond to followers as needed or escalate/delegate as appropriate.
- Collect and analyze data on social media engagement to apply insights and make data-driven decisions and recommendations that inform the social media strategy.
- Expected to be up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends.
- Serve as digital content manager of all UADV websites developing a strategy that ensures content is current and up-to-date while also building a library of relevant web content to drive engagement.
- Create or coordinate all content and promotional assets (e.g., images, written articles, videos, etc.) to properly message and drive web traffic.
- Collaborate with the web technology specialist on website architecture, design, and layout.
- Responsible for performing updates to the web and intranet sites through a content management system and act as a backup to the web technology specialist.
- Act as the managing editor of UADV's primary alumni e-newsletter Tiger's Tale and other divisional e-newsletters as needed.

Required Minimum Qualifications- Digital marketing: 3-5 years of digital media marketing experience. Marketing tools and systems administration required.
- Excellent project management skills to plan, execute, and assess project progress.
- Experience with marketing automation tools required.
- Self-motivated to meet deadlines independently; ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience with Google Tracking/UTMs, web traffic analysis, email performance metrics, and social monitoring/listening tools required.
- Demonstrated experience with HTML/CSS and custom template designs within content management systems (CMS) and familiar wth SCSS, PHP and JavaScript a plus.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including PhotoShop, InDesign and Acrobat a plus.
