POSITION SUMMARY:
The position of Assistant Athletic Director, Marketing & Revenue will lead the development and implementation of marketing, ticketing, sales and fan engagement strategies for the Duquesne Athletic Department with a focus on football and men’s basketball. The position will also oversee the daily operations and sales strategy of the Ticket Office.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary marketing contact for the football and men’s basketball.
Leading single game and season ticket sales strategy and planning efforts.
Building a year-round social media engagement plan to increase exposure and fan engagement.
Manages all in-game logistics (scripts, production sheets, video board activation, game atmosphere, music, etc.).
Develops, directs and coordinates a comprehensive, in-season marketing plan for assigned sports.
Collaborates with Red & Blue Crew to drive student attendance.
Collaborates with campus entities to grow increase school spirit and engagement.
Attends postseason tournaments as the on-site marketing contact.
Develops, directs, coordinates and executes marketing/attendance plans for assigned Olympic sport(s) with clearly defined goals and objectives.
Prepares and coordinates game day promotional activities.
Identifies and implements grassroots marketing activities.
Works as a member of the department’s event management team, specifically during men’s basketball – coordinating all facets of the game day production.
Writes and develops content for use in email marketing, print, digital and social media platforms.
Critically evaluates all in-game marketing and promotional aspects for effectiveness, improvements and new elements.
Stay up-to-date on marketing trends and technologies.
Builds game atmosphere plan to drive engagement and home-court advantage including video board content planning, music, student activation.
Ensures the in-game activation of all corporate elements.
Assists in the coordination of game day logistics including scheduling of national anthem performers, color guard, halftime entertainment, public address announcers, and student workers for assigned sports.
Oversight of two full-time staff members for ticket sales and operations.
Collaborates with the ticket office team to develop sales and revenue goals for assigned sports and postseason events.
Creates detailed promotional sales plans for season, individual, group and mini-plan ticket packages that include but are not limited to digital advertising, social media, and email campaigns.
Coordinates with campus entities for event promotion.
Performs attendance analysis for forecasting, sales and auditing decision-making.
Ensures a smooth and seamless ticket operation (e.g. timely reporting, attendance tracking, forecasting, auditing and financial reconciliation, etc.).
Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all ticket webpages to ensure accurate information.
Oversees one work study student employee and up to one Graduate Assistant.
Coordinates athletics-related events to increase brand recognition and engagement across campus.
Assists in the hosting of all home events and postseason tournaments (Conference Championships and NCAA Tournaments).
Completes other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in marketing, communications, sports marketing or related field.
Four to six years of progressive marketing, promotions and in-game promotion management in collegiate or professional sport.
Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Strong interpersonal, creative and communication skills are essential, including the ability to communicate in writing.
Excellent organizational, project management, problem-solving and customer service skills
Demonstrate strong understanding of marketing plans and strategy.
Innovative, creative and energetic personality that will recommend and implement new ideas.
Willingness to work extended hours beyond the typical business day, nights and weekends throughout the academic year.
Ability to communicate and adhere to University, Atlantic 10 Conference and NCAA policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
