The Marketing and Communications Specialist promotes the College of Arts and Sciences by engaging with our online audience, departments within the College, and alumni. They create and manage content for the College's website(s), social media sites, and other promotional materials (newsletters, brochures, event advertisement, etc.). The Specialist engages, informs, and inspires our many audiences by creating a strong storytelling platform with personalized experiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
Three years' experience writing and creating marketing materials, with demonstrated ability to write succinct, active, and engaging copy appropriate for website, social media and print audiences. A strong writing portfolio may be considered in lieu of three years' work experience.
Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and grammar skills; including familiarity with AP style.
Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
Ability to create and/or develop interactive content, features, and graphics
Ability to write in various styles and tones for different audiences and platforms (such as marketing websites, blogs, social media, email marketing, newsletters and infographics).
Ability to adhere to Gonzaga's content standards and style guides.
Experience publishing and managing content across multiple channels, including public websites, blogs, intranets, and social media.
Experience using web content management systems (CMS) to edit and publish content.
