The Assistant Athletic Director is responsible for development, implementation and execution of a comprehensive marketing, engagement and promotions plan, and game day experience for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics to increase attendance at home events, visibility, and fan engagement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Development, implementation and execution of a comprehensive marketing, engagement and promotions plan and game day experience for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics to increase attendance at home events, visibility, and fan engagement. Schedule, plan and direct promotional gameday activities (i.e., performers, halftime acts, giveaways, etc.).

Prepare budget recommendations on an annual basis. Represent the department at numerous departments, conference and national events.

Engage with on-campus (Housing, Greek Life, ASI, Cultural Centers, Foundation, etc.) and off-campus groups (school districts, YMCA, Boys and Girls Clubs, affinity organizations (volleyball, soccer, basketball, baseball, etc.), Rotaries, Chambers of Commerce, local businesses, etc.).

Coordinate all aspects of the student fan club, "The Herd"; Oversee and coordinate the Bronco Pep Band, Billy Bronco mascot, Broncettes Dance team, and Bronco Cheerleaders at events on campus and athletic and community events.

Develop event scripts for home contests and assist with various gameday functions Work directly with coaches and staff to create sport-specific engagement and marketing plans.

Creative Content: Produce, plan, edit and create marketing and promotions graphics for campus and off-campus venues (including pre-game and in-game graphics), athletics website, social media outlets, and electronic displays on campus.

Oversee the production of all video board content, highlight and hype videos, presentations and visuals for coaches and staff members.

Oversee department’s social media efforts, including management of the main athletics accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, and new and emerging social media platforms.

Identify and implement new and on-going social media and digital media marketing strategies.

Lead efforts to create and sustain brand consistency on all social media and emerging media platforms. Support and promote conference (CCAA) and national (NCAA) playoff opportunities as teams qualify.

Oversee logo, brand, identity for print, uniforms merchandise and other trademark opportunities.

Oversee and coordinate student intern program and oversee student employees. Serve on various department, university, CCAA or NCAA committees as selected.

Work closely with Director of Development on fulfillment of corporate sponsorship agreements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in public relations, journalism, marketing or a related field with demonstrated experience in storytelling, editing especially on digital platforms.

Up to two (2) years or related professional or technical experience

Comprehensive, in-depth knowledge of communications, strategic communications, media, and/or marketing theories and concepts to develop and execute communications strategies and plans to promote and position the university. Expert knowledge of university communication objectives and ability to translate them into effective communication and media campaigns. Ability to understand issues from a broad, strategic perspective. Ability to effectively manage media relations and apply effective media strategies and techniques.

B.S/B.A Degree or equivalent or relevant experience

3 years related experience

Experience in collegiate athletics in marketing & promotions Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premier)
