The Marketing Communications Coordinator is responsible for supporting public relations, social media and marketing efforts of the organization to maintain a positive image of the brand and drive patient engagement. Works with organization and department leaders and staff, including communications and public relations manager, communications and public relations coordinators, marketing consultants, digital media marketing manager, freelance graphic designer, director of marketing communications, vice president of marketing and consumer engagement and others to assist in the creation and implementation of social media, traditional media, marketing, publications and internal communications initiatives. Coordinates event creation and management to support corporate and service line goals, maximize brand exposure and clinical and foundation marketing. Coordinates internal communications, social media, marketing initiatives and proactive and reactive media relations efforts as well as community engagement. This individual will write and produce collateral, including internal messaging, social media posts, blog articles, newsletter articles, fact sheets, bios, press releases and more. This position will participate in the organization’s crisis communications response efforts, supports digital marketing efforts, provides department administrative support and will take on other duties as assigned.
This Marketing Communications Coordinator is a marketing communications multi-disciplinary position that will be approximately 50% traditional marketing/communications, 30% social media, and 20% office administration; percentages and projects may vary and evolve over time.
This is an exempt position.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite such as, Outlook, Excel and Word
- Working knowledge of desktop publishing and graphic design, Adobe preferred
- Knowledge and interest in social media writing and marketing, traditional marketing and public and community relations. Knowledge of social media tools is a plus.
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and work effectively with the marketing team, internal clients and external audiences such as media and community leaders.
- Organizational skills such as the ability to create and meet deadlines, project management, event coordination and strategy implementation.
- Adaptability. Must be able to change and shift priorities and projects, and work with several department leads.
- Creativity. Must be creative and able to contribute ideas and solutions that will keep the organization moving forward.

Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, communications, marketing, or other related discipline.
- Three (3) years public relations, corporate communications, marketing, social media or event management experience, if possible in a corporate or agency setting strongly preferred.
- Maintain a current California Driver’s License and proof of insurance or possess a means of travel to successfully meet position responsibilities.
Preferred:
- Previous healthcare experience.
- Corporate or agency experience strongly preferred.
