Job Summary: The Marketing Manager I is responsible for overseeing the marketing, public relations, event planning, fundraising, advertising and/or circulation responsibilities of a publication or program.
Additional Department Summary: The Marketing & Digital Media Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing, sales, and communications plans and campaigns for Alabama Heritage; expanding the marketing, advertising, and communications efforts of the magazine; developing and maintaining good working relations with regional organizations and media; coordinating and maintaining the magazine's social media presence, email marketing, and website.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional marketing, public relations, communications, or advertising experience; OR Master's degree.
Skills and Knowledge: Strong writing, research, and sales skills; exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively; visual communications skills including graphic design, video, and photography
Preferred Qualifications: A Masters degree with coursework in marketing, promotional strategy, consumer behavior, advertising sales, media planning, market research, or public relations is preferred.
