Job Summary

Under the direction of the Events and Development Communications Manager, and in coordination with the Assistant Dean of Development within the College of Letters and Science and Development Program Manager, this position is the primary marketing, communications, and administrative support position for the college development unit.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work occasional evenings and weekends to attend fundraising events, commencement, and to meet operational needs as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Valid California Driver's License and ability to travel in and out of California.

Strong project management and problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to work in a demanding environment.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge of or ability to learn University systems, organizational structure, policies and procedures. Knowledge or ability to learn Kuali, Advance, Decision Support and Microsoft Office systems.

Demonstrated knowledge of personnel management principles and practices; knowledge of UC policies and procedures preferred.

Knowledge of general practices in advancement including prospect research, cultivation, and the stewardship of donors.

Preferred:

Excellent knowledge of the university, its achievements, vision , mission, and goals, objectives, applicable policies, infrastructure and current issues of concern for higher education generally.

Demonstrated ability to work as a member of an office-wide team of professional and administrative colleagues.

Ability to interact with diverse constituencies and to work collaboratively in teams and with other units of the campus.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
