Detailed Job DescriptionMarketing and Communications for Student Affairs is looking for an outgoing, motivated, and confident marketing and communications specialist.
This individual must be willing to flex their creative muscles, inspiring out-of-the-box thinking by engaging Student Affairs staff in the development and execution of integrated marketing strategies that promote the Division of Student Affairs. The successful candidate will place an intentional focus on student activities and services, championing efforts aimed at increasing awareness and telling our story.
The individual will be a strategic planner, an excellent writer, and comfortable facing customers.
As the marketing and communications specialist, you will report to the Director of Marketing and Communications for Student Affairs and be a part of a team who inspire, challenge, and support one another. Responsibilities include:
- Communication and Content Strategy
- Content Marketing
- Digital Media Management
- Provide support for website redesign and updates for specific units/ functional areas as determined by divisional leadership.
- Manage a team of student employees hired to support divisional marketing and communications efforts.
- Digital Marketing Assessment
- Other duties as assigned

Minimum QualificationsEducation:- Bachelors degree (communications, marketing, or related field)
Experience:- 2-5 years of experience in a communications/multimedia/marketing writing related position
Specialized Skills:- Ability to translate business goals into actionable marketing strategies
- Exceptional written communication skills, including writing, editing and proofreading skills, and the ability to research, analyze and write content for both printed publications and web-based communications
- Ability to work in leadership, consultative, and collaborative roles with a variety of individuals (staff, faculty, and students), as well as departments and committees across disciplines
- Project management skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities
- Team-oriented, flexible, and customer-service orientation
- Keen attention to detail
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to convey complex information in accessible terms to diverse or multicultural audiences.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving and planning skills.
- Possess a deep understanding of a diverse student body and a demonstrated commitment to principles of diversity, equity and cross-cultural issues.
- Ability to establish, build and maintain effective working relationships based on respect, empathy and honesty with diverse groups and individuals.
- Ability to manage and maintain confidential and private information; uses confidential, sensitive and/or private records and information, protects information appropriately.
