Job Description: What We're Looking For
Baylor University's Marketing and Communication is seeking a full-time Senior Marketing Specialist. As the Senior Marketing Specialist, you will be responsible for planning marketing and communication strategies, writing, editing across media and producing high-quality print, digital, promotional, and advertising materials that enhance and define the University's brand, advance University priorities, and extend key messages to various constituencies. Additionally, a successful candidate will have:
Writing and editing skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with peers throughout the University
Familiarity with AP style
Ability to problem solve and work with many projects concurrently
Ability to set, prioritize and meet deadlines under pressure
Strong creative thinking
Adhere to confidentiality where appropriate
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Experience using Mac computers
A Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing or related field, 3 years of relevant work experience, and an active Christian faith are required. A Master's Degree and 5 years of relevant work experience are preferred. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do
Provide editorial/production leadership for division-led communication tools that advance University priorities.
Develop strategic communications content for University and division priorities incorporating the needs of school/college/administrative partners; provide research, plan and implement communication strategies, and develop tools, messages and creative solutions that integrate University priorities and advance partner goals.
Provide project management for other communication tools as needed to support the work of the University; contribute to the training and mentoring of other team members and student writers to help them become contributing members of the team.
Support and assist communication/marketing colleagues and otherwise contribute to the overall quality in the work of the division and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
