The Highlights In accordance with the mission of the Department of Athletics, this position serves as Assistant Director for Marketing & Community Outreach within the guidelines of the NCAA, the BIG EAST Conference, and DePaul University. The position assists with the development and execution of marketing plans and gameday presentations for assigned Olympic sports (Volleyball, Men's and Women's Soccer, and Softball). Further, this role will be responsible for achieving attendance and ticket revenue goals through strategic marketing programs, initiatives, promotions, and fan experiences.
Is This You? - Develop and execute innovative and effective promotions and game day fan experiences (e.g. interactive promos/giveaways, game scripts, introductions/timeouts/half-time entertainment, sponsor activations, video board/ribbon board elements, etc.) for assigned Olympic sports. Support attendance and ticket sales campaigns to meet defined revenue goals.
- Serve as project manager for strategic marketing programs and initiatives. Regularly measure and analyze programs and initiatives for effectiveness and impact. Research and present new initiatives for maximum innovation.
- DIBS Kids Club: Manage the development, execution, and fulfillment of the kids club program. Coordinate with the Ticket Office on payment processing and email communications. Manage fulfillment of merchandise benefits. Coordinate and manage staffing for kids clubs information tables at select DePaul Athletics events (10+ annually)
- DePaul Athletics App: Manage the fan experience and interactive features (Promotions, Lightshows, Trivia, Fan Guide, Rewards, Push Notifications, etc.) within the official DePaul Athletics app for all DePaul Athletics events. Coordinate creative elements for the overall look and feel of the app, in alignment with the DePaul Athletics brand.
- Digital Advertising: Manage social media, programmatic, and search engine optimization (SEO) advertising to support attendance and ticket sales campaigns to meet defined revenue goals. Ensure advertising creative elements are in alignment with the DePaul Athletics brand.
- Responsible for developing, managing, and executing programs that enhance DePaul Athletics' community relations and grow the DePaul Athletics brand within the Chicago area. This function involves researching, advertising, and tracking the community service activities of student-athletes, coaches, and staff. This role also requires building DePaul affinity with neighborhood communities, educational organizations, and local businesses in the Chicago area; particularly within Lincoln Park and the South Loop (Wintrust Field Trip Day, Wintrust Reads, etc.). Includes engaging community outreach organizations such as: Chicago Chamber of Commerce, Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce, Chicago Chinatown Chamber of Commerce, Near South Loop Planning Board, Prairie District Neighborhood Alliance, Wrightwood Neighbors, Sheffield Neighborhood Association, Ranch Triangle and Lincoln Central.
- Manage the application process, processing, and fulfillment of ticket donation requests per NCAA compliance regulations. Solicit, secure, and fulfill group ticket orders for non-profit and elementary school groups to attend DePaul University sporting events.
Knowledge of and adherence to all NCAA rules, policies, and procedures. Attend and participate in monthly NCAA rules compliance education meetings.

Your Education - Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred.
- 3-5 years related experience, preferably at the NCAA Division I level.
- Possess a working knowledge of NCAA and University rules and regulations as they apply to intercollegiate athletics.
Required Certifications/Licenses - Driver's license preferred
Managerial Responsibilities - Aid in the scheduling and supervision of 10-20 student workers within the Athletics Marketing Department on an as needed basis.
Financial Responsibilities - Manage and oversee the Athletics Marketing Department's 'Athletics Community Service' budget.
Other Skills & Abilities Required - Must be able to lift marketing materials weighing up to 15 pounds. Game days may require standing or walking for up to 5 hours.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with the latest trends, technologies, and methodologies in marketing and community outreach as they apply to intercollegiate athletics preferred.
- Working knowledge of current graphic design software preferred.
- Dedication to serving the department, the University and the student-athletes with the highest level of leadership, initiative and integrity.
- Demonstrated experience in working in a diverse urban and/or intercollegiate athletics environment.
