You will play a pivotal role on an energetic, welcoming team at the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International.
You’ll report to our Vice President, Communications & Marketing, work closely with other departments, and partner with key vendors (including a marketing agency, web developer, video production company, and graphic designers).
Working with our agency partners, your priorities will be to continue to accelerate our growth in membership and supporting programs, drive member engagement, generate leads and acquire new members. We are a federation of U.S. local associations and global affiliates. You’ll also be responsible for working closely with, and providing support to, our local association leaders to execute effective marketing campaigns.
Prioritize stakeholder management and relationship-building. You’ll partner with a cadre of internal stakeholders, local association leaders, and vendors to implement effective marketing campaigns, and engage with members on various channels through multiple mediums (emails, collaboration platform, short-form videos, etc.). This position relies heavily on sustaining strong relationships between the marketing team, other internal teams and relevant vendors.
Implement comprehensive marketing plans and campaigns. You’ll partner with internal stakeholders, local association leaders and an external marketing agency to develop marketing plans (with a strong emphasis on digital such as email, social and web). And, you’ll implement those plans to achieve key performance metrics for membership and supporting programs. Supporting programs range from awards and recognition programs to advocacy efforts and publications.
Create compelling content and messaging. You’ll write compelling headlines and copy for various channels and multiple audiences to engage our audience and inspire them to take action. You’ll collaborate with internal teams to leverage operational updates, event updates, and industry trends.
Project manage development of direct marketing efforts. You’ll manage the full marketing lifecycle for our membership and supporting programs, including print and digital tactics, collecting/synthesizing program content from multiple subject matter experts, copywriting, facilitating review/approvals and design and production. This also includes audience segmentation strategies to support industry-specific direct marketing, building prospect lists from multiple internal and external sources, and managing processes to ensure data quality and consistency.
Providemarket research support to assess events satisfaction, including writing surveys, analyzing data and communicating results with actionable next steps
Conduct analysis and reporting. Monitor campaign performance with focus on a select set of KPls to improve acquisition, retention, and provide timely and data-informed insights, direction, and recommendations.
You’re an innovative marketer with your ear to the ground for emerging trends. You’re a collaborative and inclusive team player and creative problem solver. You have strong analytical skills and comprehensive direct marketing, membership recruitment and engagement skills.
Minimum 3-5 years directly relevant experience
A track record of successful teamwork, developing strong relationships and building buy-in with a wide variety of stakeholders and personalities
Deep understanding of all facets of direct marketing, digital marketing, and customer journey best practices
A passion for providing superior member experience and sharing marketing expertise with internal stakeholders
Experienced user of Microsoft Office Suite
Working knowledge of select Adobe Creative Suite applications—experience with Acrobat, Photoshop and Premiere preferred
Strong ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines
Experience providing chapter/affiliate support for a national or international association with a federated membership structure featuring local associations or chapters preferred
We offer a hybrid schedule that balances flexibility with support. We collaborate in our office, located in the heart of downtown Washington, D.C., 3 days per week.
