The Institute for Experiential AI at Northeastern University is looking for a Marketing & Communications Coordinator to join our growing, dynamic team. This team member will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Institute's website, including design, content, and functionality. They will work with the marketing and content team and vendors to shape the website's layout and design in WordPress, publish content to the website in sync with the team's general content calendar, and ensure the successful execution of all necessary bug fixes and plugin updates. They will also assist in other marketing projects, including emailing and newsletters, supporting the development and running of other digital platforms, outreach campaigns etc.
The ideal candidate has experience in website administration, graphic design, and digital content management. They are a collaborative, creative individual who will contribute to the Institute's general marketing strategy and independently develop a strategic website development plan. This person will develop a deep understanding of Northeastern's WordPess framework, how it scales, and how to apply best practices in content strategy, imagery, and overall user experience. They will apply this knowledge to ensure that the website's design and content accurately reflect the Institute's mission and values.
Publishing content on the Institute's website in accordance with the marketing team's shared content calendar
Working with an external vendor to ensure that all plugin updates and bug fixes are scheduled and completed
Implementing a website re-design based on feedback from the leadership team, proposing new design features and edits as needed
Documenting important changes to the website (e.g. publication of new pages, design updates, etc.) and maintaining a website management dashboard
Tracking website and digital content analytics
Generating monthly or bi-monthly reports on website and digital content projects
Communicating important updates in weekly meetings with leadership and the marketing and content team
Copy-editing for the website and other digital platforms
Assisting in other marketing projects as needed including emailing, communications campaigns, and digital marketing
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field is required
3+ years of experience in marketing, website administration, or digital content management
Deep knowledge of WordPress and the block editor interface
Proficiency in marketing tools such as MailChimp, Salesforce, Marketo, etc.
Experience using a block editor tool to edit existing pages and publish new content
Strong content management and project management skills; experience with project management software (e.g. Smartsheet) a plus
Exceptional organizational skills including attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, and prioritization of time and duties
Strong problem-solving ability, including metrics-driven thinking
Self-starter with a 'can do' attitude and intense desire to excel
Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with cross functional team (e.g. writers, designers, developers) and senior management
Ability to work in a high-volume and fast paced environment, particularly in stressful situations
Knowledge of AI and technology a plus
Graphic design experience in Adobe Suite a plus
