Job Summary: | Marist is seeking an innovative and strategic Associate Director of Social Media and Digital Marketing who is responsible for leading the planning, development and implementation of the College's social media strategy while also helping drive other digital assets, including web site content and email campaigns. This role is a key position that helps advance the college’s reputation and brand awareness among all core audiences. We are looking for an individual who brings creativity and excellent communication skills to the team to produce compelling and interesting content for our digital platforms, and also has an analytical, data-driven mindset to strategically assess social media engagement and performance to make continual enhancements and explore new platforms. The ideal candidate will be a connector and relationship builder, a passionate storyteller and have experience with digital media and content creation across multiple platforms. |
Minimum Qualifications: | - Minimum of 5 years of related work experience in social media, content development and lead generation marketing
- Excellent written and oral communications skills; flawless editing to support clear ideas
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, English, business or a related field
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented, collaborative environment
- Self-starter who thrives in matrixed environments and adapts easily to change
- Able to work under pressure quickly, effectively and efficiently with tight deadlines

Essential Functions: | - Utilize digital channels to execute social and digital marketing campaigns and lead the college-wide social media strategy
- Be an expert in the social media space, monitoring for conversations, activities, and trends that may serve as opportunities to join or lead the conversation
- Manage day-to-day scheduling and posting on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Instagram
- Strategize and implement social programs to increase brand awareness and engagement
- Prioritize collaboration with campus partners to build a network of content creators, and build consensus and strategy on the digital storytelling of premier institutional events
- Write engaging and informational copy for social media posts
- Understand how to analyze data, google analytics, build reports and create recommendations based on data. Know how to evaluate past performance and how to present new ideas and merchandise.
- Bring a positive and can-do approach to creating rich content to be used across all marketing channels including but not limited to email, social, display, website and print
- Have a passion for innovation and a desire to try new platforms and approaches that will distinguish Marist’s storytelling from other institutions
- Assist the Director of Marketing in planning and implementing strategies for lead generation
- Work with an agency to execute paid social media and digital programmatic campaigns including the creation of content, placement of pixels on our website, and working with the creative team to develop ads
- Manage interns to assist with the execution of organic social media
- Update websites and creates new web pages and campaign landing pages
- Works closely with IT on developing new website functionality
- All other duties as assigned
