IMC MARKETING TECHNOLOGY – OPEN RANK CLINICAL POSITION
The Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications at Northwestern University invites applications for a full-time clinical position in Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) beginning in Fall 2023. The position may have the rank of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor and will be based in Evanston, IL.
QUALIFICATIONS
The IMC department is looking for a candidate who has a deep knowledge of how marketing technology creates opportunities to enable business/marketing strategy, customer experience, marketing processes, and stakeholder insights, and fuels data/analytics applications. Candidates should have history, current context, and forward-thinking advancements in marketing technology.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should have a master's degree in IMC, marketing, media, advertising, communications, computer science, analytics, or business and/or 10+ years of professional work experience with direct application of marketing technology. Candidates should have a demonstrated track record of successful teaching, development, and/or training.
Desired Qualifications
Candidates should be able to present their ideas and knowledge to a wide set of audiences and have published thought leadership in marketing technology and a strong personal brand in marketing technology. Candidates will be expected to mentor students and serve the department and University. Experience with mentoring and service to a university are highly desirable.
Faculty will teach in a demanding but rewarding environment at a premier global university. Medill is a professional school, and thus it is critical that the successful candidate integrate theory and professional practice with professional activity. The Integrated Marketing Communications department offers a full-time 15-month master’s program, a master’s program for working professionals and an undergraduate certificate program. Candidates are expected to teach both undergraduate and graduate students and perform professional service commensurate with rank. This professor will teach existing courses such as Introduction to Marketing Technology, Media Technology and Managing Integration, as well as help develop new courses focused on the intersection of marketing, marketing technology and media technology. Such areas of course development may include topics in the areas of:
AI and machine learning for customer insight, experience delivery, marketing processes, and analytics
Audience and channel measurement to support IMC strategies
Content management
Customer journey management
Digital transformation for data-driven IMC organizations
Data visualization and storytelling to engage audiences
Data responsibility for ethical IMC organizations
Web 3.0, including Metaverse
Programmatic technologies
